We had our cats for nearly 17 years and for the majority of that time we were registered with John Hankinson. In the later years of our 2 cats lives, the care, expertise and empathy was so utterly clear. We lost the second cat recently. We moved out of SE London 3 years ago , but remained registered with JH. We now have 3 new rescue cats! It would have been so easy to register with a vets closer to our new home, but we wouldn’t have dreamt of it. JH is superb! We know Kate th...e best and she has been wonderful to us over the years. She is knowledgeable and thoughtful and her care and understanding of our family has been second to none. John has always shared his expertise and been so thorough and understanding. He is excellent. I couldn’t recommend this practice highly enough. I used to work as a senior very nurse for John and the team. They were some of the best people to work with, the work environment was great and we all got on like a house on fire! I was able to further advance my nursing skills and help train some young budding nurses. Then there was the pets and their owners. We were (and I’m sure they still are) lucky to have such a great, loyal client base. Many of the animals became like my own after longer hospital stays. I hope everyone is doing well and I’m so pleased to see how much the clinic has grown. I would highly recommend to current and prospective clients, vets and vet nurses alike. Zoe

I met with John Hankinson by chance. I just happened to live locally. He has been the vet for my 2 pets for 4 years now. I would like to mention how passionate, dedicated, caring and knowledgeable he is ! Recently he performed a surgery on my much loved cat Blacky. ... He sacrificed his free time to help my sick cat as soon as it was needed. The consultation, surgery and follow up treatment was done with so much care and devotion. There is no one I can think of who could help my cat better. I feel very privileged and lucky to have met John. I bought my cat in for an emergency same day consultation- turns out she had some head trauma- lord knows what happened to her but the vet looking at her suspected that she'd been hit or kicked (to my absolute horror). The team were amazing, saw her really quickly when I got to them and now my cat is recovering so well due to the excellent care she received. The dedication and love that Johns team show to all the animals that came in really helped put me at ease and reinforced the reason I chose this vets practice. I worked at John's for six years and since moving on I can hand on heart say that it is an exceptional practice. I was John's Head Nurse for about five years and only left the position because I moved away from London. I have been nursing for 30 years and would work for him again in a heartbeat. He has a genuine, deep love for animals and treats each one of his patients as if it's his own. He gives his job and his clients 100% (often at the expense of his home life!), and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise. I have the greatest respect for John, as a boss, as a friend, and most of all as a vet and I would have no hesitation in recommending this practice.

John Hankinson is an excellent practice. I've been with them over 4 years and they have always taken very good care of my cat. They are flexible and accommodating and have been able to squeeze us in at the last minute on a number of occasions. John is knowledgable, personable and professional and he has assembled a team who offer great care and wonderful customer service.

John Hankinson and his partners have looked after our furry pals for more than twenty years. We would not use any other practice. So, even though I have now moved from East Dulwich to South Ockendon in Essex, we still bring all our chaps to his clinic. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The are reasonable in costs, but most of all, they are professional and caring people.

Excellent for bunnies! It can be difficult to find a vet practice that have good experience with rabbits. This vet practice are very knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate with lots of bunny experience. They offer a personalised service and go out of their way to make owner and pet feel comfortable. I also think that their fees are very reasonable and fair. We have been taking our bunny to this practice for 6 years and they never fail to go beyond our expectations. I wouldn't ever go anywhere else. The whole team are fantastic.

We recently moved from Canada and brought our Boston Terrier in for his first UK vet visit. The front office staff were friendly and Vanessa, the vet we saw, was amazing with our dog. She put him right at ease, was gentle and was able to give him a thorough check (including his teeth and ears which generally he does not allow!) This will definitely be our go to vet.

Used to be under John's vets, but sadly had to leave due to moving way out of the area! John and his staff were always so great and accommodating, always going out of their way to ensure the comfort of owner and animal! A few years ago, Jack (our very fat cat) fell down a large drop and had a break to his leg. After many operations and a referral to the RVC, the vets at John's managed to complete a final operation which resulted the final healing process! All the way along the team's help was amazing and very personal! I am glad to be moving back into the area again and will definately be registering the pets under John Hankinsons! Hope you are all keeping well,

Could not be happier with how they treat my cats (and me!) - they saw us as soon as they were able, before the allotted appointment time, the receptionist gave us a towel with Feliway sprayed on as she could see my cat was stressed in the box. The vet herself was gentle and had a real affinity for animals. My cat seemed completely unworried. She was so thoughtful that she suggested another nurse comes in to help with an injection so I am not associated with giving any pains. So all that, drop in consultation, examination, injection and special food was a little over 50. More than reasonable for a now happy cat.

I've used this veterinary practice's services for nearly 8 years. I recommend it highly. Our first cat had serious health issues which John Hankinson personally dealt with. He took great care to research each symptom and manifestation as well as the latest treatments and tried and tested approaches. We never felt we were being bamboozled, we were always given the facts. Our current cat is mercifully very healthy but as a rescue cat seemed to earn a special affection for John. You can trust this practice, it's very good.

I used to work as a senior very nurse for John and the team. They were some of the best people to work with, the work environment was great and we all got on like a house on fire! I was able to further advance my nursing skills and help train some young budding nurses. Then there was the pets and their owners. We were (and I’m sure they still are) lucky to have such a great, loyal client base. Many of the animals became like my own after longer hospital stays. I hope everyone is doing well and I’m so pleased to see how much the clinic has grown. I would highly recommend to current and prospective clients, vets and vet nurses alike. Zoe

I met with John Hankinson by chance. I just happened to live locally. He has been the vet for my 2 pets for 4 years now. I would like to mention how passionate, dedicated, caring and knowledgeable he is ! Recently he performed a surgery on my much loved cat Blacky. ... He sacrificed his free time to help my sick cat as soon as it was needed. The consultation, surgery and follow up treatment was done with so much care and devotion. There is no one I can think of who could help my cat better. I feel very privileged and lucky to have met John. I bought my cat in for an emergency same day consultation- turns out she had some head trauma- lord knows what happened to her but the vet looking at her suspected that she'd been hit or kicked (to my absolute horror). The team were amazing, saw her really quickly when I got to them and now my cat is recovering so well due to the excellent care she received. The dedication and love that Johns team show to all the animals that came in really helped put me at ease and reinforced the reason I chose this vets practice. This is an excellent practice, dedicated to providing you with the highest standard of care for your pets. I worked at John's for six years and since moving on I can hand on heart say that it is an exceptional practice. The entire team have true love and compassion for all animals and will always go that extra mile. I should also add that since the re-build the clinic itself is also amazing!

I was John's Head Nurse for about five years and only left the position because I moved away from London. I have been nursing for 30 years and would work for him again in a heartbeat. He has a genuine, deep love for animals and treats each one of his patients as if it's his own. He gives his job and his clients 100% (often at the expense of his home life!), and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise. I have the greatest respect for John, as a boss, as a friend, and most of all as a vet and I would have no hesitation in recommending this practice.

John Hankinson is an excellent practice. I've been with them over 4 years and they have always taken very good care of my cat. The nurses are really helpful on the phone and the vets have been able to give advice over the phone saving us a trip in. They are flexible and accommodating and have been able to squeeze us in at the last minute on a number of occasions. John is knowledgable, personable and professional and he has assembled a team who offer great care and wonderful customer service.

John Hankinson and his partners have looked after our furry pals for more than twenty years. We would not use any other practice. So, even though I have now moved from East Dulwich to South Ockendon in Essex, we still bring all our chaps to his clinic. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The are reasonable in costs, but most of all, they are professional and caring people.

Excellent for bunnies! It can be difficult to find a vet practice that have good experience with rabbits. This vet practice are very knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate with lots of bunny experience. They offer a personalised service and go out of their way to make owner and pet feel comfortable. I also think that their fees are very reasonable and fair. We have been taking our bunny to this practice for 6 years and they never fail to go beyond our expectations. I wouldn't ever go anywhere else. The whole team are fantastic.

We recently moved from Canada and brought our Boston Terrier in for his first UK vet visit. The front office staff were friendly and Vanessa, the vet we saw, was amazing with our dog. She put him right at ease, was gentle and was able to give him a thorough check (including his teeth and ears which generally he does not allow!) This will definitely be our go to vet.

Used to be under John's vets, but sadly had to leave due to moving way out of the area! John and his staff were always so great and accommodating, always going out of their way to ensure the comfort of owner and animal! A few years ago, Jack (our very fat cat) fell down a large drop and had a break to his leg. After many operations and a referral to the RVC, the vets at John's managed to complete a final operation which resulted the final healing process! All the way along the team's help was amazing and very personal! I am glad to be moving back into the area again and will definately be registering the pets under John Hankinsons! Hope you are all keeping well,

Could not be happier with how they treat my cats (and me!) - they saw us as soon as they were able, before the allotted appointment time, the receptionist gave us a towel with Feliway sprayed on as she could see my cat was stressed in the box. The vet herself was gentle and had a real affinity for animals. My cat seemed completely unworried. She was so thoughtful that she suggested another nurse comes in to help with an injection so I am not associated with giving any pains. So all that, drop in consultation, examination, injection and special food was a little over 50. More than reasonable for a now happy cat.

I've used this veterinary practice's services for nearly 8 years. I recommend it highly. Our first cat had serious health issues which John Hankinson personally dealt with. He took great care to research each symptom and manifestation as well as the latest treatments and tried and tested approaches. We never felt we were being bamboozled, we were always given the facts. Our current cat is mercifully very healthy but as a rescue cat seemed to earn a special affection for John. You can trust this practice, it's very good.
