We have used Paxton Vets for many years and can highly recommend them. As a cat sitting business we have had to make emergency visits to the vet at very short notice, Paxton's have always managed to accommodate us and have fully explained the treatments advised for the cat, so we can then update the owner. They are also happy to inform and explain to the cat's owner by phone, keeping them up to date. We rate them so highly that we wouldn't think of taking our own personal cats anywhere else. Exactly what you want from a vet. Would highly recommend. Considers the basics, understands your pet and gives the right remedy for the right aliment. I came to this vet for a second opinion, and treatment, as my previous vet seemed unable to treat the basics. Their approach was fair, consistent, and honest. All things I see as very important for a vet. Frankie the vet was pragmatic, and showed care and I feel safe in the knowledge that she would make a sound judgement on an animals prognosis and situation. The clinic isn't swish or ultra high-tech (which my previous vet's was) but I'd much rather a vet that has due diligence and duty of care to my animals than an all singing-and-dancing treatment room. Just picked my cat up from his neutering and couldn't be any more impressed. Really clean and professional place, with the friendliest staff, made the process much less stressful for both me and my cat. They provided me with an extensive amount of info regarding the procedure, his future health care and insurance options (and their healthcare package is amazingly cheap), as well as some free food samples and other bits to try him on. They also gave me a information pack to take with me, and my cat seems to be back to perky self already. Couldn't recommend them highly enough. Read Less

My Connor has to attend monthly to receive antidote jabs for his allergies. He loves his visits and instead of his usual walking at heel he pulls me all the way down Clifton Road and scratches at the door to get in because he is so well looked after by the staff. Our cat has recently been very unfortunate, dislocating his toe and then subsequently taking all the skin off his leg. The vets were absolutely fantastic. If I could give 10 stars I would! Helen, Becky and the rest of the team are brilliant. All of our animals have been given the utmost care over the years, difficult decisions have had to be made at times, but the team have made things as easy as possible in a caring and compassionate way. Our dog (sadly passed now) was given an extra 5 years of great quality life (without invasive treatment) due to Helen's sheer determination, but when it was time, we couldn't have asked for better support. This is a reasonably friendly practice. Small but tidy. Vet surgeons relatively junior but excellent (seems to change every 18m or so). Nursing staff v caring. Reception staff bit hit N miss (depending on which one). Sells hills vet food. One thing I would say is that they are not very understanding with respect to appointments and once or twice I have managed to miss my pets vaccinations as they told me in the last minute.Read Less

Even though we live in Bromley we prefer to commute to Paxton Vets as we know the special care our Cody, the Labrador, receives from them, He had quite a history of complicated medical problems and the times we have had to visit, we might as well move in, but at 11 years old he is still with us, and that is all thanks to Helen, Adam, Sam, Louisa, Becky, Anika and everyone else. The dedication, care and empathy Cody and us, his family, receive is certainly more that 5*. I would not trust anyone else with him. He loves them all and licks them to death. 5 or so years ago, I used this vet clinic and did not like the experience. I have a cat and the vet didn't even seem to like cats! I decided not to return and I went back to my old vet clinic in Herne Hill. Then recently my cat got sick and went back to Paxton vet clinic for convenience (nearest to my home). It was a TOTALLY different experience. The appointment was on time, the vet was so sweet with my cat, reassuring her and gently coaxing her to turn this way and that. My cat seemed as at ease as she could be. Plus the vet was not overly pushy with selling products, which has been my experience in the past. All good. Would recommend it! Read Less

My elderly cat had her few remaining teeth out and I was so impressed with Paxton Vets! On the day, they kept me informed of her progress with two extra check-ups post-surgery included in the total price. Betty recovered quickly - her wounds healed well and she is so much happier now.
