I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service and customer support I have received from this veterinary practice, specifically in relation to the untimely passing of my kitten and the subsequent issues surrounding the refund process for the vet plan I had subscribed to. I enrolled in the full-year vet plan, paying £240 upfront (£20 per month). Unfortunately, my kitten passed away after receiving the first dose of the vaccine, approximately 2-3 weeks into the plan. In light of these circumstances, I contacted your practice seeking guidance on the refund process. During my initial inquiry, a receptionist informed me that, under such circumstances, a full refund would typically be issued. Subsequently, I visited the branch multiple times, both in person and via phone calls, to follow up on the refund status. On each occasion, I was assured that my concerns would be addressed promptly. Regrettably, despite these assurances, no progress was made, leading to a prolonged and distressing ordeal. The lack of responsiveness and effective communication from the management team has been particularly disheartening. I visited the branch six times to resolve this matter, each time incurring emotional distress due to the reminder of my kitten's passing and the apparent incompetence in handling my concerns. The delayed resolution, especially over the Christmas period, has added to the hardship. Furthermore, I received only a partial refund of £77 without any accompanying explanation, leaving me with uncertainties regarding the deducted amount. Despite my repeated requests to speak with the manager, I was informed on every occasion that the manager was unavailable. Given the circumstances, I kindly request a thorough investigation into this matter and a transparent explanation regarding only a partial refund. Additionally, I would appreciate a timely resolution to this issue, along with clarification on the overall refund process. I believe that addressing these concerns will not only provide closure for my distressing experience but will also contribute to the improvement of customer service standards within your practice. I hope this formal complaint prompts a swift and satisfactory resolution. i would like to conclude by sharing my sentiments with potential clients considering your practice. in light of my unfortunate experience, I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST UTILISING THESE SERVICES UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. OTHER VETERINARY PRACTICES OFFER MORE COMPREHENSIVE PLANS AT MORE AFFORDABLE RATES. I INITIALLY CHOSE YOUR PRACTICE FOR ITS PROXIMITY TO MY RESIDENCE, BUT I REGRET THIS DECISION WHOLEHEARTEDLY EVERY DAY. i hope that sharing my experience will serve as a cautionary tale for others, prompting them to carefully weigh their options before entrusting their pets' care and giving their hard earned money to your practice. I really do not know where to start, I had to put my kitten down at this vet and it was the hardest time of my life. I receive benefits myself, I am also a student meaning I am financially not in a good state. This vet charged us about 600 pounds for X-ray and blood test which is for a dead kitten. I really do not know how they can get this money. like HOOOWW ??? To find that money I had to borrow from other people and for WHATTT? ??? A DEAD KITTEN !!! They were so unsupportive and very rude. I don't know how they deal with animals. These people should not be dealing with animals. How can you want that 600 pounds ??? How do you go home and spend that money ??? How can you make money out of a dead kitten. I'm so unlucky that I had to get my kitten treated here as I had no choice my kitten was in a very bad condition and my local RSPCA Centre was closed due to Covid. Also, the vet came and explained how he was going to put the animal to sleep, he had no empathy, we was crying so hard and he was very unsupportive. I don't even think they took care of my kitten properly. I felt so bad that they put me into this situation to find that money I went through a lot of pain and I felt so low and came to a point where I was so helpless. They were not helpful at all I even told them that I cannot afford this treatment for my kitten at their Palmers green branch before they referred me to this branch and when I said this they said there was nothing to do so what happens to animals that cannot get treated ??? They end up ill and have to die depending on us owners paying for the vet or not. This is so unfair as a kitten should be treated for free, These people cannot let the kitten or any other animal to die or feel unwell. This is unacceptable behaviour and these people claim to love animals and look after animals, I do no agree with this at all as they do not treat until they receive their money. So what I believe is they leave the animals to die.. SHAME ON YOUUUUUUUUUU SHAMEEEEE!!!!!!! My kitten was only 3 months old he did not deserve to die. Overall, they only care about the money not about the animal. Read Less

Village Vet cared for our gorgeous Boston Terrier Mia until she passed away in 2015 with love, professionalism, knowledge and consideration right up until her very last moments. When we recently got a wonderful new puppy we were not sure we could cope with using the same surgery where our much loved pet had passed away, despite the awesome care. One visit to another perfectly efficient vet showed us why going back to Village Vets was the only option. The bottom line is that we trust that they only care and recommend in the best possible way for our pet. All options are explained and the affection shown for our new little furry family member was heart warming. We needed to see the difference to understand that a vet is not just a vet. Village vets is better, simple as that. Read Less

I came here as a recommendation from my usual vet, my cat needed a scan and the specialist here was very good, I was told. I can confirm she is. The reception staff is very nice and attentive. When I was ushered in I spoke with a nurse, who was patient and kind, answered all my questions. I never felt rushed or like my queries were stupid. I didn't have the opportunity to meet with the specialist vet face-to-face but we spoke on the phone and she kept me well informed of what my cat needed to have done, and why. I definitely felt she knew what she was doing and was confident my cat was receiving good care. Now this is what sealed the deal for me: when picking up my furry friend, I found out I had forgotten my purse at home. This is not a local-to-me vet, which meant I'd have to make a semi-lengthy trip back home to get my card, go back, and travel home again (this also meant my cat would have to wait at the vet longer, an undesirable occurrence). They were extremely nice, despite this being my first visit. I was allowed to leave a deposit using my husband's card and take my girl home. As soon as I arrived I called them and made the remaining payment with my card. They were always nice and gracious about my mistake. Because they understood my very nervous cat's need to go home as soon as possible, for trusting me to make good on things my end, and for the excellent service my feline companion received, I'm really happy to recommend Village Vet. I have been going to Village Vet Winchmore Hill for the last 4 years with my bunny, Bertie, and I would never go anywhere else. Every single person there; the vets, vet nurses, reception and management team, is amazing! They are all exceptionally experienced and professional and are always so helpful and accommodating, as well as being wonderfully friendly and comforting (which I've needed many times when Bertie has been an in-patient and very poorly). I have visited other vets in the past and no other practice or staff comes close to the Winchmore Hill branch. Bertie is a frequent patient and he is always looked after with the utmost care and attention. Thank you, as always, to everyone at the practice for keeping Bertie healthy and happy - and for keeping me sane! I cannot recommend the staff and practice enough; you will not find better. Read Less

I have been going to Village Vet Winchmore Hill for 15 years. I keep guinea pigs, who are "exotic" in veterinary terms, and my guinea pigs receive excellent care from Simon and his team. Their expertise is second to none; I have had guinea pigs needing surgery for removal of bladder stones, ovario-hysterectomy, dental treatment (an important but not an easy task), removal of cysts and lipomas as well as treatment for urinary tract infections, respiratory infections and eye problems. As my guinea pigs are all rescues, their health has not always been good when they come to me; I know that they receive top quality treatment here. One guinea pig came to me paralysed as he was suffering from scurvy; with the help of Village Vet he was nursed back to full health and mobility and lived to good age. When I have telephoned to bring a pet in as an emergency, there is a veterinary nurse waiting at the door to take my guinea pig straight through for triage and treatment, and someone one reception with a hot drink and words of support for me. The practice has high-definition ultrasound, modern X-ray equipment and an on-site laboratory. The staff keep themselves up-to-date with continuing professional development. The entire team - reception staff, veterinary nurses and veterinary surgeons care for people and their pets. Village Vet Winchmore Hill is absolutely brilliant - kind, caring, compassionate, skilled and knowledgeable. Read Less

Absolutely appalling. I got charged 300 to put my cat down that I had for 13 years. I was in tears and the Vet bombarded me with needing to do X-rays and draining her lungs, she was struggling breath and the bill had come to 500, I told him to wait as I thought about it. It wasn't about the money, but I kept asking questions, and it turned out the draining of the lungs wouldn't actually solve the issue because it would fill with fluid again. In the end I opted to put her down, he didn't even tell me gently let me know how this would happen, he injected her and she just went in a second, her head flopped to the side and she was gone, I was so upset. I came out crying and the receptionist said thats 300 pounds please, I didn't even get more than a few mins to sit down and gather myself, nor did anyone come and comfort me. I phoned in the next day to speak to the vet who was unavailable and I got no call back. It has been four years since this has happened and I have told so many people about this. I have not forgotten about it and have every intention, now that I have moved back to London, to report this and walk in there myself and speak to them. Please watch our for these money making vets!! The clinic's function within the local pet community establishes a network that promotes responsible pet ownership alongside diligent animal care. An established practice in Greater London continues to serve as a dependable option for individuals seeking both routine and responsive veterinary care. The inhabitants of London together with those from adjacent Greater London regions frequently express gratitude for the presence of Village Vet Winchmore Hill clinic in their vicinity. New pet owners asking for help and longtime clients managing special conditions both require clear compassionate consistent veterinary service. This practice serves as a fundamental community function.
