I think there are 2 kind of Vets, those who become vets because they love animals and those who just become vet, as a profession like any other. I went to Walthamstow Veterinary Surgery because my cat, Milu', had diarrhoea for 2 days and I wanted to be sure everything was fine. Checking online it was the closest Vet, and with good reviews so I went there. During the 6 minutes visit, the vet told me that everything was fine and she gave him a medicine just to help with the diarrhoea (£33). Additional £7 for the worm product. I can accept the cost of the medications but when I went to pay I got surprised to receive a bill for £84. In my personal opinion if you make pay 44£ a visit of 6 minutes, where you only make normal checks (weight and temperature), you belong to the second category of Vets, and you didn't choose this profession because you love animals... which is really sad. Other than that you didn't told me your name, not asked mine, you told me you couldn't record more than one name - while both me and my boyfriend take care of Milu' and it is then important that you have both -, you didn't give me any records of the medications, or the weight of Milu' and you didn't keep the last one for you either (hope the information for the medicines he took will be recorded in some way after our visit). You didn't told me anything about what I should expected after the visit: will the diarrhoea stop after the visit? Can it continue for a while? If it does continue, after how long should I worry and go for another visit? Why did it have it? Maybe I have been just really lucky with my previous experiences but I am quite shocked with this visit. Kind Regards Maria. - 11/03/2018: Just a quick update to said that, despite your medicine, my cat is still having the same problem. I will go again to the vet to make him check. Obviously not you.
