Today 18/1/21 @ 4.15am I had the heartbreaking task of having to put my beautiful Henry to sleep and I couldn't have asked for kinder or more compassionate vets. I was distraught to say the least even though it was for the best. The night team at Maven were just amazing and sooo kind and so thoughtful. This helped me tremendously to deal with the loss of my beloved pet. Thank you very much

The team at Mavern have been fantastic during Covid-19, they have gone above and beyond to make sure that our precious pets have been looked after. They quickly got organised to enable us to feel safe when we needed to leave our pets for care or if we were picking up prescriptions. The whole team pulled together to make it a safe environment and I’m very grateful to them for the care they gave to Sweetpea & Sapphire at a very worrying time. I would recommend this practice very highly, they were fantastic.....thank you

Not my regular vet but had to use as an emergency vet out of normal hours. Absolutely fantastic and really pleased with how they cared for my cat when he was having problems breathing. Was very scarred leaving him over night but felt reassured by the friendly staff members. They even gave me professional advice the following night via telephone.

They are simply taking advantage of some people or they think we are the rockerfellers.

Generally a good place, however, we were seen by a most unpleasant character, Dr Mike Baumann. Most vets are kind and caring, but this guy seems to have a general distaste for pets. I’ve never been asked by a vet to hold my pet down before, if anything, it only made my pet feel more nervous. Rather than consider our problems, he is commercial minded and makes suggestions to come back in for another visit for expensive invasive options, and refuses to entertain concerns upfront. Worst of all, he wraps things up quickly, and then proceeds to hastily rush us out the door. Not once did he even ask what my pet’s name was.

In my opinion the treatments are good but this place feels over priced. A visit costs "only" £35 and if you have to add any treatment to that then you will get out of there £100 lighter at least. They tend to schedule lots of follow up visits before taking actions. The vets however seem to know what they are talking about.

Have used Maven Vets (previously Frean & Smyth) for over 22 years with my cats and rabbits. I also run a bunny boarding hotel. If any of my boarders become poorly I always use Maven. I had to take a rabbit there recently who had stasis and the new layout is brilliant. A quiet space for small animals and the staff were very helpful. The vet did a thorough check of the rabbit and talked through all the options. They are open 7 days and there is good parking which helps too. It's a very well equipped and clean veterinary surgery and wouldn't take my animals anywhere else.

My 10 year old dog has recently had a large tumour removed at the Maven Vets in North Cheam and the quality of the procedure and after care was amazing. Michael Morrice, the vet who did the surgery, is highly skilled, knowledgeable and also very kind to the animals. The stitches were neat and wound healed within 10 days with no complications. Having recently moved to this practise from my local vets in Walton on Thames, I will only ever use this vet in the future as I have not come across a better care.

Our feline family have been regular attendees for almost 16 years. They have always received excellent care - not just from the vets but also from the nurses and kennel assistants. The receptionists are all friendly, efficient and take an interest in the animals.
Senior Vet Michael Morrice sets the height of the clinical bar of excellence for others to strive to achieve. The new enhanced facility surgery is nearing completion. It has been a long slog and the practice is being equipped with state of the art equipment.
Personally I cannot wait for the new separate cat and dog waiting areas, which will reduce stress levels of animals....and their guardians!!. More vets up and down the country have seen the need for separation and are doing it gradually where space permits. I believe that the new separate surgeries will even exceed the very vigorous criteria set by International Cat Care who are a major charity who have most vets as members.
New hospital pens are being installed, which is another positive step forward.

From the wonderful ladies in reception, the nurses and vets we could not ask for more, everyone is so kind and caring.
I have been at this vets for about the last 21 years and although I have never had any reason to complain I have to say that the current staff are the best.

Our dog Harley had a multitude of things wrong with him during his lifetime. We couldn't have asked for anywhere or anyone better to look after him. Everyone worked so hard to get him the best treatment, we got a lot of extra time with him that we wouldn't have otherwise had if he had gone somewhere else. Special mention must go to Michael and Aarti who were both very involved with his treatment. Thank you again and I will recommend you to anyone who needs a vet!

Have used Maven Vets (previously Frean & Smyth) for over 22 years with my cats and rabbits. I also run a bunny boarding hotel. If any of my boarders become poorly I always use Maven. I had to take a rabbit there recently who had stasis and the new layout is brilliant. A quiet space for small animals and the staff were very helpful. The vet did a thorough check of the rabbit and talked through all the options. They are open 7 days and there is good parking which helps too. It's a very well equipped and clean veterinary surgery and wouldn't take my animals anywhere else.

I have two cats and Maven have some nurses that are qualified specially to cat nursing so know that they are in good hands when it comes to handling and making their stay if needed as relaxing as possible.

All of the staff are knowledgeable, helpful and very understanding the surgery is always clean, tidy and well organized with both separate waiting areas for cats and dogs.

My 10 year old dog has recently had a large tumour removed at the Maven Vets in North Cheam and the quality of the procedure and after care was amazing. Michael Morrice, the vet who did the surgery, is highly skilled, knowledgeable and also very kind to the animals. The stitches were neat and wound healed within 10 days with no complications. Having recently moved to this practise from my local vets in Walton on Thames, I will only ever use this vet in the future as I have not come across a better care.

Our feline family have been regular attendees for almost 16 years. They have always received excellent care - not just from the vets but also from the nurses and kennel assistants. The receptionists are all friendly, efficient and take an interest in the animals.
Senior Vet Michael Morrice sets the height of the clinical bar of excellence for others to strive to achieve. The new enhanced facility surgery is nearing completion. It has been a long slog and the practice is being equipped with state of the art equipment.
Personally I cannot wait for the new separate cat and dog waiting areas, which will reduce stress levels of animals....and their guardians!!. More vets up and down the country have seen the need for separation and are doing it gradually where space permits. I believe that the new separate surgeries will even exceed the very vigorous criteria set by International Cat Care who are a major charity who have most vets as members.
New hospital pens are being installed, which is another positive step forward.

What a wonderful state of the art vetenary clinic. So well thought out to give our pets and the staff the best conditions.
From the wonderful ladies in reception, the nurses and vets we could not ask for more, everyone is so kind and caring.
I have been at this vets for about the last 21 years and although I have never had any reason to complain I have to say that the current staff are the best.

Our dog Harley had a multitude of things wrong with him during his lifetime. We couldn't have asked for anywhere or anyone better to look after him. Everyone worked so hard to get him the best treatment, we got a lot of extra time with him that we wouldn't have otherwise had if he had gone somewhere else. Special mention must go to Michael and Aarti who were both very involved with his treatment. Thank you again and I will recommend you to anyone who needs a vet!
