I was dealing with a vet in Denton who I’d been with 3 years . I rang them asking to come in as an emergency they told me that they were busy and contact them tomorrow as I was in urgent need of help I rang John who said I’m busy but u must come str8 away . Thank u so much John u saved my dog and made our family so happy. See u in the future John u a top guy

Took my puppy for his 1st jabs. He told me to hold his head still and he plunged the injection directly into his spine between his sholder blades at an angle . I Could not pick him up for days after a...
Took my puppy for his 1st jabs. He told me to hold his head still and he plunged the injection directly into his spine between his sholder blades at an angle . I Could not pick him up for days after as he would yelp in pain . Rang and told him this . He said well don't pick him up then. !!. I've had several dogs to date and all have been vaccinated by other vets with no problems at all .Went back a week later and said will you lift the skin please . Absolutely no problems that night. I Never have or would go back their . Have asked several vets if it's practice to inject blind into the spine of a 12 week old puppy and all have said know with a very confused look. This happened over 5 years ago and still sticks in my mind. . I just don't want another puppy going through the same ordeal. I don't know just what he was up to that day .I've had 9 dogs total and have used 5 veterinarys with no issues at all. The first time I took my older dog there he was trying to get information from me as to what my last vet was giving her. I think someone needs to take a look at his diplomas for there othotanticity. This guy is an odd bod.

We have used John and Abbeywood for a number of years to look after our dog. Sadly, we lost our pet recently, but the service and care that we received was exemplary at all times throughout his treat...
We have used John and Abbeywood for a number of years to look after our dog. Sadly, we lost our pet recently, but the service and care that we received was exemplary at all times throughout his treatment, including the empathy we received and the dignity shown to our when going to say our final goodbyes, and we would recommend them to anyone looking for excellent care for their furry family.

Would nt take my dogs anywhere else as I know they are cared for perfectly. My dogs have recently had their teeth scaled and polished under aesthetic. John kept me informed of their recovery and when i took them home he asked me to regularly ring him to ensure they was OK. Also abbeywood price matched what other vets may charge.
So definitely 5 star

Makes up his prices as he goes along it seems......advertises a price on the wall in the treatment room for dogs booster but then charges 44.00? safe to say I won't be returning.

We have been taking our cat,Sam, to this practice for over three years and Sam receives excellent care.
Potential problems are picked up early and dealt with appropriately.Sam receives the best possible attention at the most reasonable price.We wouldn't take Sam anywhere else.
We can recommend this Veterinary practice highly and without reservation.

I highlyrecommend this Vet and give him 5 out of 5 stars for treatment, availability and care. I have brought lots of my dogs to John now for well over 12 months and will continue to use him. He is very good with my dogs. His prices are competitive and his treatment and diagnosis has always been spot on, unlike some of the corporate organisations I have used, who only seem to be interested in how much they can squeeze out of you!!

My family use this surgery after being recommended by a friend and I must say it is an excellent service. It is evident from every visit that John the veterinarian truly has your animals best interest in mind, no tests or procedures are advised if they are not nessasary (like ALOT of place sadly do). My cats are always seen to in a timely manner by calm and patient staff. Another welcoming note is that it's extremely good value for money, hurrah!

What an Excellent vet John Gunn is, after taking my cat to a retail vets and an estimated bill of 397.27p for 3 teeth to be removed a friend recommended Abbeywood vets, 30 minutes later my cat received painkillers, antibiotics and a sedative and hour later he had removed 5 teeth, she spent 2 nights at Abbeywood receiving constant care until she was able to eat...and the cost of this one to one care.. 120...saving me 277.27p. John cares about giving your pet the very best treatment and I highly recommend him.

Had my cat registered with this vet so my female cat could be spayed, he told me he price matched, i found a price of 37 which he knew about and agreed to neuter my cat for that price. On the morning my cat was due to be neutered he sent a message saying he was not willing to neuter her for that price absolute joke and totally out of order

We took our Kittens to John based on the excellent reviews that I had read online, there are several vets in the town where we live yet we wanted a really good vet and whilst traveling some distance to get there which doesn't always go down well with the kittens, we are sure that we made the right choice. Not only is John an excellent vet, he does a price match and his prices are excellent. The information that we have been offered has also been excellent.

We have just had our Cocker Spaniel mated and she has given birth to 6 pups and John has been absolutely fantastic leading up to and after the birth always on hand and available to give us much needed advice and guidance. I would strongly recommend John and his team as they always have the interests of your pet at the forefront of their minds.
We wont go anywhere else since John was recommended to us by another one of his clients.

Took my puppy for his 1st jabs. He told me to hold his head still and he plunged the injection directly into his spine between his sholder blades at an angle . John kept me informed of their recovery and when i took them home he asked me to regularly ring him to ensure they was OK. Also abbeywood price matched what other vets may charge.

We took our Kittens to John based on the excellent reviews that I had read online, there are several vets in the town where we live yet we wanted a really good vet and whilst traveling some distance to get there which doesn't always go down well with the kittens, we are sure that we made the right choice.
