This vet has diagnosed my dog with a particularly difficult illness to diagnose, they have treated him so well, keeping him stable on his medication with regular check ups. Previously I would have given a five star rating, but they have now been taken over by a corporate and things are slowly beginning to change. Vets are excellent, but prices are increasing especially medication ( this is pounds not pence). They also now recommending a specific pet insurance company - and you can take this pet insurance out by there web site,so the cynic in me suspects they get some kind of financial benefit for this as I know for fact that if you do this via an animal charity they get a donation. I have also noticed there is some subtle marketing going on, from what is said when you speak to the reception staff to the information that is pinned up in the waiting room. The waiting room has lost it's personal touch it used to have a notice board where there was pictures of peoples pets, these pictures have now been removed and this board is used for marketing information Read Less

I refused to pay on the grounds that it wasn't a consultation but a quick check. A consultation is where you discuss a new problem and the professional gives you their advice, this was a quick check up ( at their request ) it was ongoing so I shouldn't need to keep paying a consultation fee, wrong !! Hi we just want to say a Big Thankyou to all the team, especially Liz our vet, who looked after our rabbit hypo. He was 10yrs old, he had to come in every two weeks to have his check up on his teeth. I will always be eternally grateful to Mr Hart for looking after my faithful companion Molly over the years until she sadly passed away last year aged 16. The nurses and reception staff are lovely and always managed to squeeze Molly in at short notice when she was ill. The vets at this surgery are not just experts at what they do, but are lovely people too. My cat 'Mr Clive' was with them for two weeks whilst ill. I had every confidence throughout that he was being treated really well by all staff. All the vets at this surgery have had their turn at treating Mr Clive throughout the years but the most recent was Michelle, who I dont think ever has a day off!! He left his mark on her (literally, with his teeth). Jennifer has the most empathic face that made me cry immediately with one of her killer looks! Just a quick note to share our experience we cannot fault staff they were really supportive and helpful when we were dealing with our Stafford-shire bull terrier's old age and tumor, Mr Hart was amazing and was always available for advice and support we wouldn't have cope without him and his amazing team. When our Boarder terrier had pups they were there with advice and support and Mr Hart was there to do out puppy checks It is a lovely clean and friendly environment, putting you at ease when you go on I would highly recommend this surgery Read Less

Best Vets in the area, I would definitely recommend!! I picked up my baby rat's ashes yesterday and with them I received a lovely card from Michelle and the staff from Atherton Vets! Broke my heart to have my boy put to sleep but Michelle did her best to keep him going and he just couldn't go any longer!! Such a wonderful practice. We have been with them since we moved to the area about 12 years ago. They are so caring and thoughtful and spend all the time owners require to listen and explain things in detail. Most of our dogs have been "difficult" in some way but Jon Hart always takes his time with them to make them feel at ease (even down to giving our very timid german shepherd her booster vaccinations in the car park because we couldn't get her into the building!).
