After walking in last week with my 11yr old baby that had a fit in the waiting room on arrival, every member of staff in the building came to help us. We came to Buchanan clinic with limping 13 months old Cane Corso. To be honest I went there,because of our native-dr. Bart. I wanted my dog to be looked after by doctor, whom I can understand 100%. Beside the fact our vet we used to go is very good too.Doctor Bart has informed us what Torro's condition was straight away. Cruciate Ligament Rupture. 5 days later my Torro had his surgery. Except of couple of issues when we picked him up (from differend doctor /surgery) all is good so far. We get support and I know I can call for advice. Dr. Bart even did research for a new method I've heard about . So we can try it soon. He also is very patience to people,who not neccessary understand what is happening with their pooch. It is only begening for us. But I am happy so far. Only thing I would suggest. We did need more info while our dog has been discharged. After the surgery on this size of dog (mine is 46kg) would be safer if dr could visit at home(I know it's more difficult) and could do with nurse after hrs in case sth happens. Read Less

Today sadly we lost our little kitten Eric. He was very poorly with a virus and we can only thank everyone at the Practice for the care and compassion they showed in trying to save his short life. Simon is an amazing vet, we echo previous comments about him and he has helped us enormously bear this loss and to help make us understand more about his condition. As an example of the care and dedication shown by the staff here, they even came round to our house at 8pm at night with medication for Eric to try and help him. We miss him terribly already, we are devastated by the loss of this little character but we are so grateful to the team at this wonderful practice. Thanks again everyone. Read Less

Kitty was put down today aged 20. I couldn't have put her in better hands than with Simon. He helped kitty live another two years after I nearly lost her with only 13% red blood cells. Then she struggled with weight issues but kept going strong. The level of love and care Simon devoted to kitty and to all animals is a rare quality. Not only is Simon a great vet, with knowledge, he is a decent human being with compassion and integrity. Today was the hardest thing, Simon made sure he made this as comfortable and as easy as he could for both me and kitty. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I will always appreciate the level of care, service and the empathy shown to me and Kitty. I have always received a very high standard of service at Buchanan. Bart in particular is always very helpful and is fantastic with our family dog, Olly. Iv taken my bullmastiff to another vets in the centre of northenden on Friday as my dog was just not right, the vet examined him quite quickly, check temp, heart beat and genuinely pressed about on his belly for a bit. I was then told in very brief words, I think your dog has leukaemia he's really struggling to breath he needs to come back on Monday for tests, in shock I asked if there was anything he could do early or is there anything I can give him to make him more comfortable over the weekend, his words were it's 3:30 on a Friday what do you exspect me to do as he ushered me out of the door to make Mondays oppointment. Not happy with that at all the next morning I rang Buchanans vets on wood lane timperley and told them the situation, even though fully booked they fit me in straight away. From the minute we walked in the level of concern and care was on another level they had my dog all day working on him, even though the vets closed at 4:00pm they all stayed untill gone 7:30 to work on my dog and make him more comfortable which they did. A very big thanks 2 Simon for looking after our dog Kim and for being lovely with us and our 3 year old son who has come with us on visits with Kim and to all the staff for being so kind and friendly with our family over the past few years, especially Rachel who has been great support for me with advice and her kind words, she is a lovely lady. All the staff were lovely and caring when we had our beautiful dog Tara put 2 sleep two years ago, she was very poorly, we will never forget the lovely care she was given .
