I came to this vets as my dog had osteosarcoma and needed to be put to sleep. I chose to pay extra to have my dog put to sleep at home (to relieve mine and my dog's stress). This was not the case. The vet showed absolutely no compassion during or after the procedure for my dog's pain and no sensitivity to me. He treated the whole thing as a cold business transaction. I sent a letter of complaint and had the least apologetic phone call I have ever received. The vet is clearly a very uncaring and condescending man. AVOID THIS VETS! Read Less

I am feeling horrendously ripped off right now - my dog cut his paw and I paid £50+ just to be given some iodine solution to put on it (probably a couple of quid for same from any chemist?!) and some gel that I think is meant to seal the wound, except that it doesn't even work. I didn't like to say no at the time as you want to do what's best for your pet but thinking about it afterwards I could have managed all this on my own for a lot less money, and can't believe the products really cost that much at point of sale. It's honestly putting me off taking my pets for anything other than emergencies or routine vaccinations. If the NHS has comparable costs then it's no wonder they are costing our economy billions, but no, I think someone here - either the vets or the pet pharma industry - are just profiteering :( Makes me feel used and like they care less about the animals than making money. That's the third hefty bill I've paid for my dog, for products I can't really say have done him much good. Can't even complain on their website as there is only a telephone number to contact and don't want to bend the poor receptionist's ear as it's not her fault! Reading some other reviews which says practice has changed hands and gone downhill, am now thinking of finding somewhere else. Read Less

My experience of this vetenary clinic was poor. I was made to feel as though my pet was insignificant because she is a small hamster, and the vet was very uncomfortable with handling her. He made it clear that he was afraid of being bitten. What concerned me the most was that she almost ran off (a very high) table while he was attempting to scruff her, and he stood back while my partner caught her. We were completely shocked. He then told us that if we allowed her to fall, she would end up with a very nasty injury falling from such a height. We were obviously foolish in trusting him to handle her and I was really disappointed that we were made to feel responsible for his shortcomings. She had a respiratory infection (which can be quickly fatal if not treated). The vet failed to properly examine her, but in fairness he offered to give us antibiotics (which successfully treated her condition) but he told us very callously that she would probably die because she's small. The whole experience was awful, I went there thinking that taking a sick animal to the vets is the right thing to do, but I left feeling confused and feeling a bit foolish about the whole thing. I was incredibly shocked at how dismissive the vet in question was, and I have since taken my hamster to Ashleigh Vetenary Clinic in Chorlton who were incredibly attentive and kind to my hamster and offered extensive treatment options. My advice would be: if you have a dog or cat, you may be fine, but if you have a small animal, please go to a vet who specialise in exotic animals, or else you'll end up with a sick animal who is also very stressed! They do offer free consultations on a walk-in basis which seems great on the surface, but in hindsight, I'd gladly pay upwards of 30 to be treated with a bit more respect.Read Less
