My 90 year old mother took her 14 year old newly blind dog to be checked over and possibly be put down due to her bumping into things and she won’t go outside. The dog won’t settle down and just cries.
The vet told her that her dog needed extensive blood work and surgery on her cataracts! They took 40.00 pounds from my mum.
We were told by another vet in July that there is nothing they could do for her cataracts.
I’m wondering just how much they would have taken money wise from my elderly mother.
Shame on you!! Read Less

Our dog Jenny was 16 and was having problems with her back legs and drinking huge amounts of water plus being incontinent at times, so we took her to Park Vets who told us wow for 16 she looks great, we explained about her back legs she was examined by an American lady vet who told us she as a heart murmur but only small and nothing to worry about, they took bloods and took sample of a lump she had on her side, we were told to go home and bring a urine sample in for them to test for a UTI, we waited for the results for about 4 days all was ok but they wanted to do a specialised urine test also send her bloods off for a move intensive look at by the lab so in the mean time we will took her home with some tablets for a UTI. She was still bad on her back legs and still peeing all over but we were assured that she was fine, all this cost just under £400 to be told she’s fine for her age, 6 weeks down the line 13thJune at the RSPCA in Salford our Jenny was put to sleep with congestive heart failure, after all the bloods and tests they did, why wasn’t this picked up on. Staff are polite and well mannered, but they are just after money. Took our cat to it four times over four weeks. Each time they took tests, gave vaccinations/injections (though I never saw the results of the tests and I don't know what they injected). At 70-100 per visit, I got fed up and took my pet to the RSPCA vet who told us it was old age and there was evidence of organ failure. RSPCA told us, subsequent blood tests/further vaccinations would be of no use and a waste of money. They advised us to put our pet down, as it would suffer unnecessarily (and had been for the four weeks we went to Park Vet Clinic). Sadly our cat died painfully a day later. Whilst the staff at the clinic may be polite, I am left with the feeling they just wanted to do more tests to make money off us, and our pet suffered needlessly. I wouldn't ever use Vet Clinic again.
