We took our 16 year old Westie, Fergie there on wednesday last week. he'd been off colour a couple of days then deteriorated on wednesday. He was seen by a lovely vet and we decided to let him go. Difficult, but she was lovely. He's now reunited with our other Westie Harry who died there last year age 15. We received a lovely sympathy card from them on saturday that had Fergies paw print on it. I'll treasure that for ever. A lovely gesture. Read Less

Myself and my husband took our cat on Saturday night because I doubted myself on how much insulin I should have given her and couldn’t settle. Waited a long time even though I was the only owner but I guess the vet was operating in the back or something. Some blood on the floor, hygiene could have been better however very friendly and understanding staff and my dog was treated very well and examined thoroughly. As far as I can tell they try to do their jobs as best they can. Although they are really expensive and even after my dog died in their care they didn't knock the price down. They did however take my dog out through the back door as to not upset other pet owners. No real cause of death was provided to us so still in limbo about how my dog actually died I knew she was us well hence me taking her there but they couldn't give me a strsight cause... Read Less

Along with our local vet they saved the life of this little one so I am eternally grateful. Professional staff who clearly knew their work inside out as well as being calm and friendly at a very difficult time! I have spent thousands with this firm, now they are sending me repeat dept collectors letters over a bill i paid for on the day, I rang up to complain and ask them to check there own accounts and they said they cannot do this because they have a large volume of payments going in, and if i do not drive down to them with a bank statement they will not cancel there dept collectors! Get your shocking amateur accounts team to do there job properly before accusing people of being thieves. I will rather take this to court out of pure principle. In the past we have also been charged 65 for optimum eye ointment when you can buy it online for 25. Who is the thief here? Read Less

Thank you. We visited with our very poorly dog Connie on Easter Sunday. We were shown professionalism, compassion and utmost dignity. We lost our 15 year year old friend unfortunately on that visit, but I have to say the staff from reception, through the nurses, and the vet herself were nothing short of brilliant. I am absolutely disgusted with this vet and advise everyone to stay away !!!! I took my 10 year old Yorkie there last week as he had a growth/boil on the side of his mouth which was bleeding ! After being told because it had just turned 6pm the consultation fee had gone from 43 to 136 ??????? When we was called in the vet took a look in his mouth and advised us it was a tumour but not one that was worrying / urgent ! He went on to say it needed removing and he would provide us with an estimate which came up at 770 !!!!!!!!! I came away worried as I didn't have that sort of cash ! Today we have taken my dog to another vet where we have been told it's a wart that is inflamed and bleeding as he has been scratching and a course of antibiotics at a cost of 21 should sort this!!!! I am left absolutely gobsmacked that a vet like pet medics can get away with ripping people off by 750 as this was the difference in both my vet estimates please stay away from pet medics nothing but rip off merchants taking advantage of people that love their pets so much they will pay stupid amounts of money when not needed !!!!!!!! Honestly the worst vets i have ever been to in my life! No compassion no sympathy no interpersonal skills. My dog went in and died after several tests and medicines all of which had been charged for. The total bill was around 1.2k. I had paid a deposit and for the cremation and casket in full however they refused to release the ashes until the full amount was paid even if we set up a payment plan my advise go somewhere else!!! Different vet and plan every day, very poor explanation of fees and promises that yes that's definately all there is to pay. Letters from pet plan in September/early October stating that all the claims put in by them had been paid and approved. This morning I recieved a letter (nearly 4 months later) to say we still owed them money! When I phoned then they were not at all apologetic about a) telling me that all was settled when it wasn't and b) waiting nearly 4 months to claim the money back. When you lose a pet the last thing you want is reminders and bills several months later. Add to this that when we took our other dog in to be put to sleep they gave us the consent form with someone else's pets name and details! Overall very poor experience. Read Less

All staff were extremely friendly and helpful and my poor pooch was in straight away and had a metal clip removed from her paw pad within five minutes. We would like to write to you and express our feelings regarding our dealings with your practise. We have owned our pet dog Alfie for almost nine years, he has been a tremendous part of our family. He was bought for our daughters tenth birthday. We have had few health issues with Alfie over the years luckily. However we did have an ulcerated eye issue earlier this year. We had visited the practise around five or six times always seeing a different vet, which was not the issue but there were conflicting diagnosis and medication. In frustration we instructed you to forward our notes to a new veterinary practise. An hour or so passed and we had a phone call from one of your vets , Jenny Smith. She explained how sorry you were for the confusion and that we felt pushed around. She asked us to bring Alfie back to her and she would guarantee she would deal with him. Jenny did. You treated him for a couple of weeks and then we were recommended to Eye Vets in Chester where they successfully removed the ulser and it has been perfect On May 31st Alfie had a fit/seizure, we did not really worry as it was a one off, then he had another, a more severe one. Again we visited you and Jenny Smith dealt with Alfie, always being so professional but we could see she always had a soft spot for him. We were transferred to Chester Gates in Chester. Alfie underwent scans etc and we had a little bad news, he had a small tumour on his brain causing the seizures. Unfortunately he became quite poorly over the past couple of weeks, again we visited you to see jenny who injected him with steroids and Kepra, unfortunately it beat him and last Friday morning early hours he took a turn for the worse. We lost Alfie...... We have been absolutely devastated the whole family have been affected. We live in a Restaurant in Monton, Alife has too for almost nine years, he has been massive friends with all our staff and so many of our customers. We have had endless messages , flowers and cards of condolence. But one lady in particular for me Jenny Smith has stood out. She has gone above and beyond her role with you people at Pet medics. She has taken the time to email us with so much thought. I brought my grandads westie in 2 weeks ago, he'd been vomiting and had constant diarrhoea for 24 hours. We referred by the local vets who were concerned because his core temp was very low, his heartbeat was very fast and he was going into shock. When we got there we thought he would have to be put to sleep, we were sure he'd been poisoned, we even said goodbye to him, we were inconsolable! My grandad couldn't afford the huge emergency fees and the vet, Laurence I believe her name was, was determined to help us within the realms of what my grandad could afford. 2 drips, rehydrate sachets and an anti sickness injection later, the improvement was unbelievable! With a lot of patience and small amounts of bland food, a week later he was back to normal. We've now taken over Frankies care as my grandad agreed that he was too old to have Frankies best interests at heart. He's a happy, loving and energetic dog and we're so glad Petmedics gave him the chance he deserved. We wouldn't be without him!Read Less
