I can't thank the staff enough, especially Michelle who I never got to thank personally for keeping me updated throughout the entire weekend. The vets here literally saved my dogs life! I can’t thank them enough. He suddenly collapsed and was unable to stand on Friday. Took him to my regular vets who stabilised him then referred him to Petmedics. Within 20 mins they’d scanned him and found a mass on his spleen which had ruptured and he was bleeding internally. I chose to proceed with emergency surgery and at least give him a chance. They removed his spleen and the mass and have sent it off for analysis. They called me and kept me informed throughout and everyone I spoke to was very helpful and friendly. 48 hours after the surgery my dog is now home. Just waiting for the results back now - if it’s not good news I know the vets here will help me make the best decision for my dogRead Less

Can't Reccomend this place enough! My dog is a lunatic when it comes to going to the vets, I took her today to get her anal glands expressed and of course Tilly was a nightmare, before my appointment the staff kindly put me in a room on my own as Tilly gets anxious around other dogs. Once it was time for the appointment Tilly wasn't up for co-operating, but the vet got us some extra staff members to help and we managed to get it done despite my dog going mental! The vets remained calm and got the job done as quickly as possible! I can't thank you enough, the majority of vets would take one look at Tilly's performance and run a mile but the vets here percivered and got it done! Thanks so much for your patience! Read Less

Our cat Poppy was looked after by the team at the Wardley site after she became seriously ill very suddenly. Despite having to have her put to sleep, I couldn't be more thankful to the staff for the treatment she received throughout last week. They were patient and showed great empathy to us as we went and said our goodbyes. And then today we received a lovely card through the post with a paw print inside from our cat. I would have given 5*but as it was a sad day for our family I can't say i loved it. But the staff & vet at paramedics were brilliant. Compassionate & thoughtful to us as my beloved cat Jess (19yrs) had to be put to sleep yesterday (24.01.18) she had been going down hill for a while. We was very worried about her so when the vet said that she was going into heart failure we knew that we couldn't see her suffer.. they gave us the time to say goodbye to jess. Thank you. We sadly had to put our dog to sleep this week, which was such a hard and emotional time. The staff at Pet medics were fantastic with us and Roxy. They could see how hard it was for us and were patient and very understanding. They made the room all comfortable and peaceful for Roxy. I want to thank (I think her name was Ursula) on Sunday & Jenny yesterday for there fantastic treatment & support when I had to bring Tip back in 3 Days in a row. They were honest & gave her so much love & attention even though she as a grumpy bum. Yes it ended in heartache for me but after my discussions with the above I know I did the right thing. I am going you 5* for these to days & because of the reception staff who were absolutely amazing on Saturday, Sunday & yester...day. Wasn’t enamoured with the Vet I saw on Saturday who kept going on about hospitalising my 19 year old baby. She is 19 & the stress of being away from her Mum wouldn’t have done her any good & to suggest she comes back in a few weeks for heart checks. She was 19 & wouldn’t have survived the messing. I left on Saturday with the impression it was all about the money & hospitalising her but Sunday & Monday more than made up for that. Thank you for looking after Kitler although I heard he was a bit of a handful. Have previously visited with one of our dogs and have found them excellent both times. Also good with using our insurance. We were redirected to Vets4now after we were unable to make appointment but they require emergency fee upfront not just the excess. Best to stick with what you know and (hopefully not) if we have an emergency again will just go straight to Petmedics. Through a relative we got Kitler and our whippet/staff Milo as rescues from Petmedics so I know they look after animals well. Read Less

The best vet care in the NW of England bar none. You pay a little extra for emergency treatment, but my goodness as with everything in life you get what you pay for. Sadly my little friend didn't see Sara at Pet Medics until it was too late after seeing a number of other very inadequate surgeries across the region over a 4 week period. Sara helped me through this torrid time and she really was my guardian angel on that difficult day and a shoulder to lean on. Sara tried her utmost to save my dogs life, but it wasn't to be. It's still difficult to even write about it, let alone think about it, but I know Kizzy's last moments were spent with someone who loved her dearly and a caring vet who showed an enormous amount of empathy, which in my experience is extremely rare. This practice is appalling. All they wanted was my money. Tried forcing numerous medications be on me for my dog. Told me the dog had lots of different medical conditions that needs life treatment which is news to me. Never go to this vets or any of its clinics. Plus had to pay 35 for nothing. Unfortunately with all of the upset I didn't get the nurse's name who was with Snowy when he passed but her compassion with us was truly touching and I won't forget how kind she was, so I hope this thank you can find it's way to her. Different vet and plan every day, very poor explanation of fees and promises that yes that's definately all there is to pay. Letters from pet plan in September/early October stating that all the claims put in by them had been paid and approved. This morning I recieved a letter (nearly 4 months later) to say we still owed them money! When I phoned then they were not at all apologetic about a) telling me that all was settled when it wasn't and b) waiting nearly 4 months to claim the money back. When you lose a pet the last thing you want is reminders and bills several months later. Add to this that when we took our other dog in to be put to sleep they gave us the consent form with someone else's pets name and details! Overall very poor experience. Read Less

We knew she was in a bad way when she came in but we know you did everything you could to help her. Thank you so much for fixing Bella's paw tonight. Cannot praise your service enough. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful and my poor pooch was in straight away and had a metal clip removed from her paw pad within five minutes. So impressed with your service and thank you especially to the kind receptionist who put both me and my dog at ease and made sure she was seen and pain free as soon as we arrived. Also thank you to the vet who was brave enough to get up close with an extremely terrified and pained dog and fixed her so quickly. Definitely a five star service! Read Less

I brought my grandads westie in 2 weeks ago, he'd been vomiting and had constant diarrhoea for 24 hours. We referred by the local vets who were concerned because his core temp was very low, his heartbeat was very fast and he was going into shock. When we got there we thought he would have to be put to sleep, we were sure he'd been poisoned, we even said goodbye to him, we were inconsolable! My grandad couldn't afford the huge emergency fees and the vet, Laurence I believe her name was, was determined to help us within the realms of what my grandad could afford. 2 drips, rehydrate sachets and an anti sickness injection later, the improvement was unbelievable! With a lot of patience and small amounts of bland food, a week later he was back to normal. We've now taken over Frankies care as my grandad agreed that he was too old to have Frankies best interests at heart. He's a happy, loving and energetic dog and we're so glad Petmedics gave him the chance he deserved. We wouldn't be without him!Read Less

Took my poor puppy here after he was hit by a car and he was in shock. Although most of the staff were caring, one was not. A male man, pointed in my face and told me my puppy was going to die unless I paid him 500 up front to keep him in over night. He said "do you have the money or not." Me and my mum looked at each other and said 'no we don't but can we do a payment plan as all we have on us is 10 at the moment' he puffed and said 'People like you need to go to the RSPCA.' He kept rolling his eyes up after seeing our pup in the room whilst he was on oxygen and crying and wasn't doing anything to help my puppy, just stood there looking at him whilst the woman did all of the work, then told me if I was going to cry 'get out.' He kept tutting at me and my family and wouldn't even let us see our dog for more than a minute. The next morning they rang us to tell us he survived the night and we could pick him up and take him to a hospital to OP on him and told us 'yeah it's going to be 5,000 or put him to sleep'. Once we picked him up we asked what we paid 500 for and it was NOTHING. Only oxygen and to keep him in. Awful!!!! We took my puppy to a different hospital and they did surgery on him and welcomed us with open arms and loved my pup unconditionally and even stayed with him over night as they were not a 24 hour surgeon!! do not take your pet here. Don't tell you accurate costs was told one thing on the phone when I arrived the price had then increased by nearly 10x.... Threaten you with debt collectors for costs you were not made aware of or did not agree to, was charged for a scan I wasn't asked if I wanted didn't agree to and wasn't made aware of h costs Beforehand, Stay clear they care more about money than the health of your pet They also demanded money before they would treat my pet Read Less

I inherited a cat from a friend years ago and when she got sick recently I took her in to PetMedics and explained to the vet that she wasn't mine and I was on a very tight budget. The vet told me that the tests would cost between 250 and 300. When I went to collect her I was handed a bill for 370. I refused to pay the extra 70 as I hadn't agreed to pay that amount. Then the threatening letters began culminating in a letter from a debt collection agency today. Please DO NOT take your animals to PetMedics as they can give you one price then charge you whatever they like. An absolute rip off, no indication of charges were made when my poor cat was taken in, luckily I had insurance but Pet Medics overcharged by 155, the arrogant way I was treated by the accounts team was disgusting.
