we had our chihuahua checked up at white Cross when we first got her a few months ago we also had her spayed here it was all a positive experience and we were happy to recommend them.....Today was a sad day for us we had to use white cross to put our other much loved boy Flash a Belgian shepherd to sleep he had been in my husbands life since he was a puppy and was now 14, he wasnt just a dog he was family my husband said the lady vet was fantastic and made things a little easier the only problem was he was put to sleep at a 5pm appointment at a time when the pet crematorium could not collect him my husband asked if they could keep his body till the crematorium could collect him in the morning he was told they don't have the facilities for that meaning my husband had to bring him home and leave him in the car boot till morning this caused a lot of stress at what was already an upsetting time for us. If we weren't having him cremated what would have happened to him would he have been put in a bin to be collected like refuse ? It's time vets had facilities for our beloved pets to be kept in freezers overnight we would have been more than happy to pay for this service sorry for the rant but it is upsetting to think of our boy wrapped in a blanket in the back of the car overnight. My adopted dog Winston was terrified of vets when we first got him, and whilst we still have work to do, the staff at white cross Walkden have helped me make a trip to the vet an exciting adventure. He still needs work in the actual treatment room, but the vets have embraced Winston's obsession with squeaky toys and we use them as a distraction. My dog doesn't like the vets but for her annual injection they recognised this and gave her injections outside in the carpark to reduce her stress. Also waived the fee when I explained that her previous injection had been given at another Vets when i couldn't get a convenient appointment. I couldn't have asked for any more. Read Less

I brought my 2 dogs, Snoop and Maisy, for their annual injections to see our vet, Lizzie. Not only did Lizzie give my dogs their injections, she checked them for any other problems including a check up on the condition they already have, she weighed them and clipped their dew claws. My dogs actually love going to White Cross Vets in Walkden. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. They always remember my dogs names, which means a lot to me. White Cross was recommend to me by a lady I met on a dog walk. Having just rehomed a dog I was looking for a vet that wasn't the 'commercial' vets. I visited White Cross with Tilly and felt that the vet was very approachable. There were some issues with Tilly that I needed help with, I was put at ease and felt confident that I had made the right choice. My dog kane nearly died because none of the vets realised he had heart trouble we have him checked every 12 months hes 5 andhalf when he stoped eating we took him in he was rushed to hospital for dogs cheadle heart speacialist they drained 9 litres of fluid from is chest and stomach 19 pound he lost hes fine now but speacialist dont no why they could not pick this up Read Less

This is the best team of people I have ever met in a vets. Even though we only had a short time using you the care and support was fantastic from start to finish. Your practice was and is very proffesional and understanding and in helping our staffie Blade with his L2HGA and the problems that came with this condition showed us we had made the right choice for him even down to you arranging his cremation after he had to be put to sleep.If you are looking for a proffesional caring team then you will have to look no further.
