Phoned these lot when my cat was struggling to breath asked for emergency appointment, took them 2 weeks to see my cat and told me it was a simple respriatory infection and he would be fine. A week later they told me I had to put him down as he had an uncurable virus. When I started to ask questions about this virus their story changed and from there on the lies they spewed made me realise they misdiagnosed my cat and as a result he had to be put down. They are still now refusing to admit they screwed up and are even now trying to say it was my fault. To date I have two statements from them of the actions they took and both stories are different meaning one is a lie if the other is true and if that is the case then as I know the both statements are lies as they failed my cat and are too gutless to admit they killed my cat. They care more about money than pet health so I would avoid taking a loved one to these. Avoid if you care about your loved ones as they only care if they are paid and if they make a mistake will never admit it. Read Less

Disgusted with this practice! Someone took my cat in to their Beaufort surgery for a health check as, apparently, she had been living wild in the area for months and he had been feeding her but was concerned she was too thin. She was scanned for a chip but unfortunately my phone number wasn't upto date on Petlog so they allowed a complete stranger to take home MY cat that is microchipped to ME and told him to just let her go as I lived near him. They sent me a letter by 2ND CLASS post which I didn't receive until 3 days later telling me that if I wanted to be reunited with Mittens to contact them and they would arrange it. Imagine my horror when I drove to the vet thinking Mittens was there only to be told she had been taken home by a complete stranger and they couldn't give me any information regarding him due to the DPA. It's over a week since Mittens was taken and I have only just found her this morning no thanks to Riverside Vets! Why on earth they think it was acceptable to advise someone to let a cat go again is beyond me. As my phone number was out of date on Petlog why did they think my address was correct???? We could have moved! I only managed to find out the surname of the man who had Mittens yesterday morning and that was through Gwent Police not Riverside. I did some detective work with my friend and we found out who he was and where he lived and it was only then that I had a rough idea of where to look. Mittens is very special to my son and I. I handreared her and she has even come on holiday with us. She is very small because she was handreared but is perfectly healthy and the only reason she wandered off was because the man leaves bowls of food out for "strays" and she was obviously tempted by this as she is on a special dried food diet as wet food/chicken etc upsets her tummy. I was asked by the receptionist at Riverside "do you want her back then?" Extremely rude and extremely insulting! They went out of their way to be awkward and unhelpful. It was almost as if they didn't want me to have Mittens back. The least they could have done was to have kept Mittens at the surgery until I'd had chance to receive the 2ND CLASS letter they sent me! This whole fiasco has caused a great deal of worry and upset for my son and I and if I never have to deal with Riverside Vets again it will be too soon. Read Less

Really nice vets to visit and great caring staff. Me and my partner have four cats of which one was a rescue kitten. All our pets have been fully looked after by the staff on every visit. The staff are kind and supportive and have always given us the best treatment for our pets and the best advice. Staff are always happy to answer and questions or concerns we may have and are always happy to go that extra mile for all they're customers. As vets go, I would certainly recommend them to new clients and pets. They are reasonable with treatment costs and happy to help if you are on benefits through there benefit schemes that they offer. I would recommend Riverside Veterinary Care due to there professionalism, the support they offer to new clients, their kindness and their passionate attitude they show throughout within there careers. Amazing vets they have been nothing but fantastic with my shih tzu Steo. Whenever he needs to be seen they fit him in for me. I wouldn't go any where else and wouldn't trust anyone else with my fur baby. Read Less

My little dog Ruby broke her leg and sadly it needed amputation. I can't fault any of the love and care she received at riverside.
