Staff are always very helpful and polite. My only critism is that appointments that are made need to be on time, it is not fair to keep dogs waiting that suffer with anxiety because of their visit to the vets. Read Less

I love this surgery, been going here for the last 16 years and won't go anywhere else even though there are ones much closer and cheaper to where I live. The staff are very friendly and welcoming - they treat my dogs like members of the family and always have a smile and a treat ( for the dogs - not for me, that would be just weird). Read Less

Fields Vets have been our Vets for over 15 years looking after our furry friends, we always get a friendly welcome and made to feel part of the family, especially by their wonderful receptionist. Fields vet is unbeatable. I would highly recommend them. All the staff there that I have had dealings with have been fantastic, receptionists, nurses and vets alike. it's clear they love animals and love their jobs. They were very helpful and highly knowledgeable, providing great treatment for my pet rat. They operated on my dog to remove a large abscess which was causing him problems. He had such great treatment he was really happy every time I took him back. When he lost use of his legs and I sadly had to have him put to sleep they came out to my home to do it and were exceptionally kind and compassionate. Six months down the line I have another dog and would not dream of taking her elsewhere. Read Less

It's so nice to see the same vets each time you visit unlike the last practice I had my pets registered with - the employees actually remember you and your animals which is perfect as one of my dogs is very nervous and takes a while to get used to new people. The ladies on reception are always lovely and make a big fuss of your animals. I feel so much happier changing to Fields after 25 years of taking family pets elsewhere in Newport. Read Less

I have to say my lovely Vet at Summerhill Newport is amazing. Jean Morris has looked after my beautiful babies for 30 years. Not only has she cared for them but she has cared for me. I cannot believe that she has not been awarded for her expertise, love and kindness. She cares for the pups of homeless people.I know I will never meet anyone like her in my life time. Can't speak highly enough of the staff at Fields. Our cat, Jack, has been to visit a few times recently and each time has been treated with such great care. Friendly staff who are always happy to help. Separate waiting areas for dogs and cats to reduce stress and fighting. Sometimes there might be a wait if emergencies come in and you've got a routine appointment, but the staff will kindly let you know. Read Less

Couldn't ask for a better vet, treated our baby and us better than we could of ever expected. Sadly our girl couldn't be helped and had to be put to sleep due to cancer on her spline, it was a Saturday morning and we were there all morning until early afternoon and couldn't of asked for any better treatment. There was no rushing us and treated us with the best respect you could ask for when we said goodbye to our girl. They were great from start to finish with our baby, didn't feel pushy about the bill like many other vets do and let us take our time with our girl. Have used the Practice since the late 1990s The Vets always explain the Treatment needed in great detail, never rush you through the Consultation. They keep up with the latest Procedures / Medicines etc. The care that the Vets give is fantastic. Jamie has been wonderful looking after my Dog recently Would highly recommend the Practice.. Such kind and thoughtful words landed on my Mum's door step today, in form of a beautiful little card. On the front, it stated 'forget me not' but it was the words expressed inside that really made our hearts melt. My mum has had a really, really tough week as she has had to say goodbye to one of her dearest pups. Those of you who know my Mum, know how much she loves her doglets! and when she was told that Kaela had cancer it ripped out her heart... However, receiving the card today from Fields Vets really made a difference to know that they truly care! Jamie, the vet who helped Kaela in her last days wrote a poem inside the card. This was the poem..... 'I know in time you will see, The kindness that you did for me, Although my tail, its last has waved, From pain and suffering I've been saved'.
