After visiting the Stubbington branch today.. I was really not impressed! Our cat had to have a bandage taken off his right leg after having a stitch up earlier in the week, and the vet said “Where’s the wound? I don’t want to cut it and make it worse”. Fills you with great confidence, why didn’t he double check the notes?? After feeling rushed through the appointment and hurried to reception to get a collar cone, we were then “greeted” by “delightful” Reception staff. Very ...rude and abrupt. However, I will say when we first had to rush our cat in a few days before today’s visit (last Wednesday) the staff were absolutely fantastic! Natalie was on duty at Reception and two vets that we saw were very helpful. They ensured our kitty was entered in to surgery ASAP. So, thank you to the staff who helped and were involved with our cat on that day. I guess we just got unlucky with today’s weekend staff. See More

Lump on my dogs paw, asked to get it tested. Made it very clear that they should take a large sample as it cost £110 to send away to the lab to get tested. The sample is sent away for us to receive a phone call saying the sample was too small and therefore inconclusive. The vets insisted we have a second sample taken and pay another £200 to get it tested. They charged us £110 for LITERALL NOTHING. in the end they said "it's inconclusive but there might be a risk the lump is dangerous, best have it removed" and wanted to keep him in over night for anesthetic. Another vet told us it's completely harmless lump and is a 'lab lump'. They were wanting to put him under and put him through all of that trauma for nothing but profit. Incompetent and dishonest vets.

One of the vets had found a lump within my dogs inners saying that its nothing to worry about. Few months later had he had to be put down because that lump was cancer .
Second, i had took my husky to this vets checked him all over said he was fine. Instead he had 9 rotting teeth that they never found out.
I am disgusted.

Just taken Dylan Jones the hamster here. First time at a vets for us all. Wonderful telephone manner showing interest and concern from the Receptionist when we rang to enquire (which made us go there rather than another practice), and again on arrival. Name and details of Dylan known and again real interest in his condition shown. Vet was also superb and treated Dylan gently and with respect. Possible avenue of hope with treatment administered quickly and kindly. Possibly very bad news delivered kindly and options outlined. Fantastic service. Couldn't fault it. I want to say a massive thank you to everyone at alver vets in gosport. Last week I had to bring my dog in, rusty, after a very nasty accident in the woods. To say they have been helpful is an understatement! When I arrived they were waiting for me and looked after him so well. He was straight in for surgery and home with me that same evening. A very professional organisation and I would recommend them to anyone. They all know rusty in there now and are always very pleased to see how he is getting on. Thank you to you all.

Called to register my dog after moving to the area from Somerset. Asked if they could get me the Veterinary Exclusive Royal Canin Mobility Support Tablets. Despite selling the Royal Canin food they were very dismissive and even told me that the product was discontinued (which is a complete lie). I have now registered my dog with Vets4Pets Gosport who were much more helpful and are ordering in the support tablets my pet needs, thus proving the lie told by Alver Veterinary Group.

We moved to the area and within a week one of our border collies had severely injured his paw. We has used our previous vets for over 30 years so we were apprehensive. We needn't have worried. Dylan was swiftly seen, treated and our insurance claim sorted out for us. Bonus is that Dylan (who can be a bit nervous) fell in love with Tallia, one of the vets! Great service.

Treatment of pets is OK administration is terrible!
I called the Stubbington branch, as they usually deal with the insurance claims and did you know that when you make a PetPlan insurance claim through them they no longer send the form onto PetPlan for you 'because the postage is too much'! What's wrong with them faxing/emailing it? Also, they don't even tell you that they don't do it anymore, I found out the hard way. This is penny pinching to a ridiculous degree and I'm not happy! :-((
Luckily, the helpful lady at the Fareham branch told me the form had already be scanned in to their system and she offered to email it on for me, which is what had always happened in the past ... I don't know why all forms couldn't be handled in this way?

A very sad and emotional time for us as a family as we had to say goodbye to our beautiful golden lab Sheva Deva .we cannot thank Kirsty Taylor and Brosna enough for their compassion, care and support during this difficult time. Both Pepe and Chica have had dentals this week, doing really well thanks to Talia, Aneta, Christie, Sadie, and although others who looked after them whilst in. Potato, Lulu, and Ginger also have excellent ongoing care from them all including Brosna and Kate, for various conditions. Fingers crossed you don't ever have to see Gypsy for anything non routine! xx

We moved to the area and within a week one of our border collies had severely injured his paw. We has used our previous vets for over 30 years so we were apprehensive. We needn't have worried. Dylan was swiftly seen, treated and our insurance claim sorted out for us. Bonus is that Dylan (who can be a bit nervous) fell in love with Tallia, one of the vets! Great service.

Treatment of pets is OK administration is terrible!
I called the Stubbington branch, as they usually deal with the insurance claims and did you know that when you make a PetPlan insurance claim through them they no longer send the form onto PetPlan for you 'because the postage is too much'! What's wrong with them faxing/emailing it? Also, they don't even tell you that they don't do it anymore, I found out the hard way. This is penny pinching to a ridiculous degree and I'm not happy! :-((
Luckily, the helpful lady at the Fareham branch told me the form had already be scanned in to their system and she offered to email it on for me, which is what had always happened in the past ... I don't know why all forms couldn't be handled in this way?

My puppy fell ill on Monday and they have just been amazing with helping us and looking after her to find out what's wrong. She's home being monitored to fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.
