Recently moved to the area and used this vets based on the reviews. They advised surgery for tooth removal and I bought some worming products at the initial consultation including a £50 plastic collar...
Recently moved to the area and used this vets based on the reviews. They advised surgery for tooth removal and I bought some worming products at the initial consultation including a £50 plastic collar based on their advice, despite discussing that my cat is not keen on collars. After giving it further thought I tried to return the collar as the cat refuses to wear an old fabric one but they refused to take it back (despite being unopened), I have since found out that the collar is only £26 online so I cannot even sell it privately to recoup my costs.
Following this I looked around elsewhere for surgery options and found a more experienced centre locally who routinely do operations and could do the tooth removal for over £100 cheaper.
Avoid this practice, it appears outdated with basic facilities and they are likely to overcharge you. There are better veterinary practices nearby who are seeing more clients so have more experience, better facilities and will charge less as they can pass on discounts from bulk purchasing of stock items.

I have used Hook Vets for 16 years and it doesn't matter who I see, I have always been very happy with their treatment. I have a very nervous cat and they are always calming and reassuring. I would recommend them although I am aware that they might not be the cheapest option.

The staff here is competent and, must of all, compassionate. I recently visited here with a pet that had fallen I'll. They went out of their way to help. When nothing more could be done, they were helpful with the final transition. I'll grateful for their kindness.
