St Peter's Vets currently has 4 Directors/ Vets and 3 Assistant Vets who along with Nursing and Reception staff provide a 24 hour a day service 365 days of the year.
We at St Peter's Vets Ltd are dedicated to providing a high standard of client & patient care.
Our Out of Hours service is run by our own Vets and Nurses and is based at the Petersfield surgery.
Consultations are by appointment only running from 9am - 11am & 2pm - 7pm Monday - Friday, 9am - 3pm Saturday & 10am - 12pm Sundays.

What can one say about St Peter's ? They are by far the best small animal practice in the area . With 2 main surgeries ( Petersfield and Horndean ) and one smaller one in Liss , they cover much of the area . They have recently added a mobile unit too . I have used this practice almost since it first started in the 1950's when my parents had pets , and they have never failed my animals even under difficult circumstances. I have total peace of mind using St Peter's . I made the mistake of using another vet when I moved out of the immediate area, but have now returned to them and feel the extra distance is not an issue to know that my animals are in safe hands . The vets are all delightful , the communication is second to none , the knowledge is as well , and with a large selection of vets on duty you know you are in the best hands . They have long opening hours with a surgery on a Sunday too . They are kind and compassionate , and this includes the receptionists and vet nurses who are all lovely . With a tricky dog , I feel totally at ease taking him there , knowing that they won't put him under unnecessary stress . Would never go anywhere else . Five stars is not enough for this practice ! A very nice vets' practice. My husband and I recently adopted a retired racing greyhound, our first dog, and both times I have contacted the vets with a health concern about him they have arranged to see him on the same day. (Thankfully, he is fine - but as an inexperienced first-time owner especially, you don't want to take any chances.) I found everyone we dealt with to be very kind, polite and professional, and the dog was at ease there. The advice I was given on how to care for him was straightforward and reassuring. Amazing Team of compassionate professionals! I have taken my dogs to see John Wakefield for in total, about 16 years now. They were/are both rescue dogs and both nervous. Both had ongoing health issues and so I was a regular. John has continued to go above and beyond to make sure my beloved dogs are reassured, loved and recieve the best of medical care. HIs team are brilliant too. Over the years I have seen other vets at times and they are also wonderful. I can't praise this practice enough. I will be and I am totally grateful for the care and love this professional and compassionate veterinary practice offer. Read Less

Took our dog in to see the vet without making an appointment and was fitted in without too much trouble. Vet decided to keep our dog in as he was in some discomfort. Almost immediately when getting home we had a phone call from Vet explaining that something had come up on an xray and our dog required emergency surgery, which they performed without any delay (Saturday afternoon). As it happens the vet found two tumours on our dogs spleen and removed them. Thankfully the tumours ended up being benign but what a fantastic service we received. From the get go, very professional and we were kept informed every step of the way. They worked miracles that day and saved our beloved dog. I cannot recommend them enough!! Read Less

Had an awful experience when our dog was allowed to die with no one at Petersfield in attendance between 11pm to 7am. We wanted our dog home to be put down at home with her sister present. The duty vet refused to come out as he said he was too busy. They were unable to give a time of death as no one was in attendance & she was on an intravenous drip. They say they have 24 hr emergency cover...this doesn't mean they have 24 hr care. After a poor response from a junior director we have changed vets...very dissapointed Read Less

Anyway I cant remember which vet it was but he was brilliant with Dottie & gave me some great meds that helped her so much she even went to sleep! As vets go, this is one of the best. Had to euthanise my beloved Barney last week, a 15.5 year old springer spaniel. They were knowledgeable, loving and hugely supportive, during such a traumatic experience. They were deeply respectful afterwards, allowing us to phone a few days later to clear our bill. They even sent a condolence card in the post a few days later. All in all, highly recommend. Read Less

We phoned the surgery on Wednesday evening when our Border Collie 'Kali' suddenly became very ill and the reception staff were excellent. We don't live in the area any more and were staying in our caravan on a small site in Monkwood, South of Alton having returned for my mothers funeral. We saw Antonia, the vet on duty at the time who admitted Kali and worked overnight to try to save her but sadly she lost her fight at 4am on the Thursday. Kali would have been 13 on July 2nd and has been in obedience competition, reaching Championship status and gaining an Obedience Warrant before she was 3 years old, She was our little Champion who fought a great fight but lost this one. I would like to nominate Antonia for a 'Caring Vet Award' if there is one. Her thought and attention to detail was above and beyond the call and we were very assured by her attitude that we were leaving Kali in the best possible hands but, thanks also to everyone who made us feel welcome.Read Less

These guys are amazing! They are personable, knowledgeable, caring and most of all extremely good at what they do. I've been in many times over the years with all sorts of dogs and I think I've seen every vet in the practice... They are all lovely! Even when called out late at night, they are there smiling (on the outside, anyway!) and ready to deal with whatever the issue might be. I'm so grateful to have a practice I can trust who are also open 24/7. So lucky! Read Less

A very nice vets' practice. My husband and I recently adopted a retired racing greyhound, our first dog, and both times I have contacted the vets with a health concern about him they have arranged to see him on the same day. These guys are amazing! They are personable, knowledgeable, caring and most of all extremely good at what they do. I've been in many times over the years with all sorts of dogs and I think I've seen every vet in the practice... They are all lovely! Even when called out late at night, they are there smiling (on the outside, anyway!) and ready to deal with whatever the issue might be. I'm so grateful to have a practice I can trust who are also open 24/7. So lucky! Read Less
