Moved to this vets recently because we weren’t happy with our previous vets and I’m so glad we did. Richard and his staff have been amazing with our poorly old Staffie Lucy, as well as helping to keep my two daughters entertained while we were waiting for X-rays and appointments etc. They were also really supportive when I received difficult news about Lucy. Having recently moved to Hamble, we felt worried to take our puppy and our cat to a different vets, however, I can truly say that the staff are fantastic here (incredibly friendly), give great advice and are very thorough. Highly recommend! Read Less

The staff clearly love and are wonderful with the animals. The facilities are excellent and the hospital facilities are on site. If you want to visit your pet if they have to be admitted you are welcomed to do so. Read Less

Had a lovely visit to get Moose's jabs and a checkup. Vet was lovely and Moose was a happy, healthy pup. We also visited for some gastroenteritis a few weeks back. We were seen quickly and the medication helped moose get better in a day or two. Read Less

Our cat Spitfire developed a serious abscess over the weekend while we were visiting Hamble Point Marina by boat. Even though he wasn’t a patient there, Harrier Vets saw him in within two hours of our calling and had him in surgery later that afternoon. This vets is the best in Southampton, the receptionist/ nurses are so friendly and helpful and Richard the vet is superb with my rabbits unlike other practices that had hurt my previous bunny. When I had to have my previous bunny put down the girls there were fantastic in consoling me and then the card and poem they sent days later was beautiful and truly meant a lot. Really pleased we chose to register our rehomed (house) rabbit at Harrier Veterinary Surgery. We did this based on a personal recommendation. The staff are all so attentive to both animal and owner and I have had no trouble getting a suitable appointment - even same day for a claw clip! I have used this Veterinary practice for the last 15 years and can sing nothing but praise for all the amazing staff who are very caring and extremely talented. Over the years they have looked after, and treated my dogs, small animals,a tortoise and cats .They are extremely professional yet compassionate and down to earth .If I have had a problem they have always given me the same day appointment. Heathside Vets were there for us in an emergency when we had to say goodbye to our little dog, and were extremely caring and compassionate. A few years on our new puppy Alfie is registered with them and I cannot fault their care. He's attended the puppy classes which were invaluable, and he literally loves his vet Becki! A wonderful, helpful, friendly local vet practice with lots of very qualified staff caring for your pets as if they were their own! I have been with Heathside for years and have always found the care and service offered by them to be 5* - they have lots of skills and equipment onsite which means that you rarely have to travel to another vet with a very poorly pet and they are open 7 days a week! We have been coming to Harrier Veterinary Surgery for over 8 years now, there are other surgery's much closer to our home but Richard came highly recommended to us and has been keeping our Cat "Margo" healthy and in great shape ever since. More recently Richard also saved one of our Hens following an encounter with Mr Fox :/ Against all odds Richard repaired a large number of injuries both internal and external from the attack, and 'Felicity' lives to lay another day!!
