Our cat has ended up at this veterinary twice - first with a ruptured diaphragm and then with a broken and infected leg (he has a dicey relationship with cars it seems). Both times he was extremely sick and the Mildmay staff were supportive and did everything they could to help him. They called at least three times a day to update us on his progress, gave us amazing instruction with his after care and drugs and were clear about costings and adhering to our insurance plan. They were always clear about his chances of survival and delivered bad news in a considerate manner. He also loved them and seemed happy during his stays, with as little distress as could be expected in the circumstances. They showed a great deal of care for him and were extremely sympathetic. Not my usual vets but needed to use in an emergency in sad circumstances , we where treated with respect and put at ease straight away. The staff are very helpful and very sympathetic and gave us all the time we needed and kept us upto date every step of the way. Read Less

These lovely vets have looked after my Dog for 11 years now and as she gets older, the quality of care is only getting better. Phoning in for minor concerns is never an issue and check ups are easily arranged. My Dog recently started hydrotherapy at their pool which is really helping as she gets old and creaky. Read Less

Well kept office in terms of cleanliness, etc. Have had to wait a while after appointment times fairly often. Also experienced one office person being very impatient with me on the phone. The waiting room is notionally divided between cats and dogs, but there's no actual barrier and cat parents have to come into the dog area to pay (some leave their cats in the other area while doing so, but certainly not all). The vers and techs themselves seem quite good, however, & that's what really matters. Read Less

This is by far the worst veterinary that I have ever frequented with my animals. I was aware that my family had suffered difficulties with this surgery before, but my cat needed immediate help and I was desperate so I had to take her to Mildmay. The treatment as a customer is nothing short of vile, here you will be made to feel small and as if your are unable to care for your animal. You will be bullied into paying their extortionate fees. They are rough and careless with your pets causing more harm than good. An example I will give you can only be that after my animal received medical attention I asked if I should keep her indoors. I was told that she would be fine to go outdoors, she'd been dealt with and I'd have no more problems. Although dubious I let her outside because being indoors was causing her distress. Half an hour later a man appeared at my door holding my cat, telling me that she'd wandered off and fallen asleep in the middle of a walkway and flies had begun to gather around her. After further research I've discovered that my cat should not have been allowed out and she is now recovering in my house. I was extremely lucky somebody found her, otherwise I have no idea how long she might've been laying there for on her own. These people are money grabbing, bullying creatures who are a disgrace to their profession.I urge you not to use this service! I certainly will not be again, there are other vets in the Winchester area! Please take your animals somewhere kinder! Read Less
