You cared for her as if she was your own, keeping us informed every-step of the way and assisting in out of hours advice in her recovery. A risky life saving operation which could have easily ended differently without the expertise and compassion of your team . It's with thanks to you she now has a new lease of life and is living out her golden days in the pampered way she deserves. My wife and I have been coming to Blythwood Vets in Bushey for a number of years now. Initially recommended by a friend who lives locally, they have an excellent reputation in the area and beyond. It is certainly well-deserved: Not only are the vets and vet nurses extremely knowledgeable, they also show kindness, consideration and sensitivity to both their clients and patients. My pets love them! Healthcare - both for people and animals - costs money and some people, it seems, fail to take this into account before getting a pet. At Blythwood I really do feel that I am getting excellent value for an exceptionally high level of service and care. I can't recommend Blythwood Vets highly enough - all of the staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and really do have your pet's best interests at heart. They always take time to make sure that any questions are answered and that you feel reassured, no matter how small the problem is. Visited the Bushey branch for the first time today with my huge Maine Coone cat, George, it was a Sunday, and we saw Charlotte. She was amazing!!! George won't normally go near strangers, but he relaxed straight away, and laid down on the table for Charlotte. I wouldn't take my dog Max anywhere else. We've used Blythwood for years, they're onto our 3rd dog I think now and many years ago Bradley used to look after my horse. We have been known to call them late at night when we have a worry and they are always patient no matter how silly our questions! And for the bigger stuff like when our dog passed away, they handled that beautifully as well. We really recommend them and Max our dog thinks Dan is the best, he saved him from a very embarrassing situation! Read Less

I rang the Stanmore surgery yesterday evening asking if I could have a home visit for my 16 yr old dog, Dan turned up at 10.30 this morning and gave a thorough examination, we took her for a little walk to check her gait and wobbly back legs. Dan then went through all our options but reassured me she didn't have any significant neurological symptoms, and is was probably overdoing it and cold weather aggravating her arthritis. He gave her an injection of cartrophen, which I will follow up over the next month....but, she has made a huge turnaround, when 'dad' came home her tail was wagging, no limping and then spent over 2 hrs stalking a fox in the garden!!! Brilliant service, brilliant Dan and how lovely he was with her and no lectures on her tubby belly, which we are well aware of and trying to reduce but she is an old lady and deserves a few luxuries. Thank you Dan and Louise for helping my little old lady so quickly, efficiently and with care and compassion. You're worth every penny I hope you enjoy the chocolates I left for you. Yet again I am truly grateful to the wonderful Vets and Staff for taking such wonderful care of my Cairn Terrier Yogi. Dan the duty vet was amazing kind caring supportive and available to speak with at any time when Yogi became acutely unwell. He treated Yogi quickly and effectively ruling out any serious underlying causes. His care was passed on to Barry who was on duty next and continued with such wonderful thorough kind care for Yogi. The very kind helpful receptionists and nursing staff have been wonderful too. Yogi is already so much better and we are truly grateful to the Blythwood Team. Only a few months ago , my other dog Pebbles was very unwell and Graham and Barry took wonderful care of her. They were both very kind and supportive to me too. Big thank you to Barry who has helped my dogs out of hours in the past too when they accidentally ate chocolate. I highly recommend Blythwood Bushey and am very appreciative of the highest standard of care , and wonderful communication from the vets and staff when my dogs have been unwell. About 3 weeks ago, we had to take our Tibetan Terrier, Phoebe, to the Vets.........she had managed to jump up on the dining-room table and eat a rather large portion of Chocolate and Beetroot Cake, which was made from very dark chocolate and cocoa!! Barry, the Vet on duty, said that the best thing to do would be to give her an injection of a drug to induce vomiting, and that this was the quickest and surest way to get it out of her system. Sure enough, within a few minutes of receiving the injection, Phoebe started vomiting, and was sick several times. Barry was very mindful, checking on Phoebe each time she vomited, and assuring us that it was definitely doing the job! As usual, Barry was very kind, and helped us through our worry and concern over the situation. The Receptionists were also very kind and assured us that it was not a problem at all that Phoebe was being sick and that they would have to clear it up! Many people in the local field talk about being swindled by these lot. They love to scare people into buying super expensive products. Even their mail outs are full of 'scary' images of bugs that could kill your pets. They will lie and guilt trip you, be aware of this.Read Less

Just wanted to say a huge Thank you to the whole of the Bushey team and in particular to Daniell and Barry for the care and concern they showed during the long process of fixing Riley Eustace after he came off worst in his argument with a car. Right from the begining when he was first admitted as an out of hours emergency, Riley received the best that could be hoped for and I think it would be fair to say that Dan is an excellent addition to the team. My cat Busta was mauled by a dog 8 weeks ago. Everyone at Blythewood have been outstanding, going above and beyond to help him get better. Having just returned from Moldova - where you may ask - where I saw many a skinny waif looking dog I was reminded how lucky we are in the UK to have vets like Blythwood around. My heavily spoilt spaniel was born with rather random hips and had to have surgery last year . The vets at Blythwood were brilliant at both helping Beau and his anxious mistress through the surgery and long difficult recovery period. Vets, nurses and front of house staff are all brilliant and to anyone out there looking for a vet you won't ever do better than going to Blythwood Vets. Read Less

I don't often write reviews but thought I would in this case as the experience of one reviewer on here is rather different to mine. My wife and I both highly recommend this it here and have been using them for a number of years. We changed from a different vets after we were told about it by a lot of our dog-walking friends who also go there. The staff are all lovely, the vets are caring and the continuity of care is excellent - we've got to know the staff over the past few years as most of them have been there as long as we have been going. On the one occasion we had to call them out in the middle of the night, it was someone we knew who turned up - not sure if this is standard practice for all vets but it was very reassuring for us. Having had experience of a number of vet surgeries with our various much loved pets, we've never been happier with any of them than with Blythwood. It's obvious that our pets' best interests are their top priority and they've dealt with a number of complex conditions knowledgeably and compassionately (patiently explained in a way even I can understand!) so we know all the options. Plus the nurses are very kind and helpful in advising on general health care so we can also hopefully prevent problems before they happen. We wouldn't give our pets anything less. Read Less
