We had to bring our 19 year old cat to see the vet this morning. He had stopped eating and drinking and was quite clearly very poorly. Firstly having rang our local vet in Redbourn High Street which is 'suppose' to care for small animals. I was told that they only saw 'emergency cases' on a Saturday morning. Well I consider a 19 year old cat who won't eat or drink and is in disstress to be an emergency!.. They also said that as we were not registered with them they would not see him. However by complete contrast when I told the lady at the Icknield Surgery in Harpenden what was wrong with him, we were told to bring him over straight away. Lovely careing people ..
