I have had many positive experiences with Chestnuts, but the one that so very evidently stays in my mind is when they came out to put my beloved Solo to sleep. As many of you will know, not an easy experience, but made just that bit easier by a caring Vet and her nurse. We were not made to feel silly for being emotional and together this made the ending the best it could be. Subsequently, they were so very pleased to see our new addition and even when he was bitten by another dog, could not have helped him more when both he and I were in a somewhat traumatic state. I have had over 30 years of experience at this vet, through going with my mother and our family dogs and now taking our own dog and guinea pigs to be treated there. The vets and staff have always shown incredible knowledge and experience and above all amazing care and compassion towards the animals and to us when we have had to say goodbye to our beloved pets. My family and I have been taking our pets here for years and they always do an amazing job. Super kind and understanding team who treat your pets as if they are their own. I wouldn't want to take my pets anywhere else. Twiggy had to stay here to be treated as was super sick but within 4 days she is a completely different dog. Top marks so far after taking cat there for first time. Before and after what turned out to be a major dental procedure all staff from front desk to nurses and vet were helpful, friendly and very willing to explain/show what was going on, answer any questions, return calls quickly, follow up etc so there was never any uncertainty. They accommodated our schedule, boarded the cat the night before the procedure for a nominal fee, and did not charge for a follow-up visit. Also high marks for having a cat tree in the waiting room as being high up reduces stress in cats. My only issue is a problem with most vets: a small waiting room with mixed dogs and cats, which tends to be stressful for the cats as the dogs will bark/lunge at them. Otherwise, an excellent experience for us, although not so much for the cat as he now has to learn to eat without teeth. Read Less

My cat enjoyed her first home visit yesterday for a repeat injection. The only drawback for her was having to stop sunbathing for a couple of minutes! It was well worth paying the extra to save having to go through the trauma of a car ride. The vet and nurse who came were friendly and efficient as usual. Read Less

We have used many vets over the years but this practice is by far the best. Firstly the surgery, waiting room and consultation rooms are extremely clean as you would expect. The reception staff are very friendly, reassuring and helpful. All of the vets are very dedicated and professional They also take time to listen to you and discuss your pets requirement explaining everything properly. Have been visiting for 6 years. Each staff member is utterly professional and welcoming. They show genuine interest and care for your pet. My timid cat is put at ease with each vet I've seen. Superb. Just cannot think of anything else to say. Our young dog was taken ill in the summer. I was concerned that we were either going to lose him, or that his illness was going to have long term health implications. Quick admission, and the prompt diagnosis of an often missed condition led to a very quick recovery. During his period of care he was obviously well cared for, as when we call in he pulls us through the door to reception.
