General Info
The Letchworth Veterinary Centre is an RCVS Accredited Small Animal Practice.
We are the only practice in Letchworth and have served the Garden City and the surrounding area since the 1950s.
Our aim is to combine a high standard of care for your pets with a friendly and personal service.
We have free on-site parking, modern facilities including spacious kennels, surgical suite, in-house laboratory, digital x-ray, ultrasound and bronchoscopy.
We are able to provide gold standard anaesthesia including ECG and respiratory monitoring.
Consultation times are as follows:
Monday- Friday
By appointment
9.00 - 11.00 a.m. and 2.00-6.30pm
Tuesday & Thursday to 7.30pm
Saturday
By appointment
9.00-11.00am
In addition, most afternoons between 2pm and 4pm we run designated cat clinics with a separate waiting room for those patients who are made nervous by dogs. Please enquire when booking your appointment.
Out of hours emergencies: 01462 685882
Outside our normal opening hours, we provide an emergency service for our clients, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

I like others have used this practice for many,many years. My dogs were always treated well, by mr Gillon. when he retired the place went downhill. My last experience with this place was in September 2020, I had to have my 16year old Labrador put to sleep. This was bad enough, but due to covid the vet would not come to the house, so I had to manhandle her into the car.. On arrival at the vets, we had to phone to say we were there, they came out, put my dog on a stretcher, took her away, we were not allowed to go into the building with her, it was as if we just abandoned her.
It made a distressing situation almost unbearable.
An acquaintance had to have her dog put to sleep at a stevenage practice, they came to the house, took dog to vet, with owner following on, and she was allowed to go into the building and sit and hold dog while injection was done. This was only three weeks after our experience..

Been a customer for over 15 years not impressed just told to go elsewhere as to busy
So much for dogs health and welfare
So up to date they sent bill to my late wife who did nearly 6 years ago which I found extremely upsetting

We have been going to this vet with our dogs and chickens for more than 10 years. It WAS truly exceptional - excellent care, honest pricing. The head vet has now retired and the practice has been taken over as part of a small chain of practices. Ever since, we have had one bad experience after the next and the prices have escalated beyond what can be considered reasonable. We have made the decision to find a new vet. I suggest looking elsewhere.

Disgusted! only get a star because they answered the phone! A friends dog was run over today i called them to be told the vets were all at lunch? When I questioned why they were ALL at lunch and no vet was on site but they were supposed to be open I was told that I should not speak to the receptionist like I was? Bearing in mind a dog had just been run over and needed a vet asap I was panicking trying to find one close that was open? Luckily we managed to find a vet that was open and actually in the practice.

Our Shih Tzu " Ziggy" has been registered here since he was 8 weeks old. He came to the puppy parties and I think they really help, because now if he has to visit the surgery, he marches in without a care in the word, he loves it there! He is now nearly 2 and anytime we have had to see the vet or get advice from the nurses regarding flea or worm treatments it's always very friendly and professional. It's a lovely place with great staff.

I can not recommend this vet enough. My Std. Dachshund Josie was cared for LVC since 2012 (on and off). From bloat, blindness to sadly kidney failure but even at 3am on a Sunday morning the vets are caring and kind. They saved her life a couple of times for which I will be forever grateful.

I like others have used this practice for many,many years. My dogs were always treated well, by mr Gillon. when he retired the place went downhill. My last experience with this place was in September 2020, I had to have my 16year old Labrador put to sleep. This was bad enough, but due to covid the vet would not come to the house, so I had to manhandle her into the car.. On arrival at the vets, we had to phone to say we were there, they came out, put my dog on a stretcher, took her away, we were not allowed to go into the building with her, it was as if we just abandoned her.
