Village Vet Meldreth

Royston, Hertfordshire
General Info

Well established in the village, our Meldreth practice takes great pride in the work that we do.

We prioritise attention to detail and excellent customer service alongside genuine loving care, and have a real interest in our local community, working hard to be the friendly practice that the surrounding villages need. We fully immerse ourselves into the community and you will often see us at local events!

Head Vet Vanessa Nichols has been based at Meldreth for many years and along with Head Nurse Jo Brown, who lives in the village, and a dedicated team of nurses and receptionists we are proud to provide state of the art veterinary care.

Whilst the vets can advise on key areas of preventative health, medical and surgical requirements, the nurses are available for free consultations to discuss how best to take care of your pet.

We are always free for a chat about your pets’ health and would be delighted to help with any queries you may have, no matter how small.

Parking at Meldreth is easy and convenient, we have a dedicated carpark at the front of the surgery.

Out of hours, the same excellent service can be expected at our Whittlesford and Milton practices.

What a fantastic surgery and brilliant veterinary care. I had to take my little rescue dog to the surgery as she was suffering with stomach pain and lack of appetite and my usual vets had no appointments available. She is so nervous usually going to the vets and Vanessa handled her so well!!! I don't think we have ever had such a careful and thorough exam at a vets and it really filled me with confidence. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming and it felt like such a pleasure registering my little girl there. I would most certainly recommend this vet surgery and I can safely say this will be my regular surgery from now on. Read Less

We've belonged to 2 Village Vets, both have given excellent care to our (slightly) complicated pooch. The vets have also been open to our observations and queries and educated us regarding her disease. I feel that our current vet knows her very well, which is real help in her disease management. I know there are sometimes question marks over using a chain vet, but the access to specialist care and the 24hr emergency service are important to us. Plus, neither main vet has ever made us feel like we're in a factory line of appointments. We had one issue with another local branch when she was having some tests, where pooch was less well-known and our question re her meds was not answered. Our usual vet sorted this out. Read Less
