Have given my dog for a simple yet necessary procedure during the first day of Covid-19 outbreak. It cost less than £20. The dog developed an infection (of course everything was polite and lovely during the visit. The effect, however, is more important!). Firstly they did not want to know about it, and after they took upon to maintain the infection for two weeks, prolonging his suffering, costing me around £150. Had to take the dog to another vet for the treatment, needed put him under anaesthetics, effected in a range £300 of cost. The clinical director of Roebuck had the audacity to email me that I made unnecessary trips during COVID lockdown... Hypocrisy at its finest. I really should wait until my dog deteriorates to the point of no return, paying them all that time. Do you still want to use them? Will you really be able to find out what happen to your animal if she/he dies or is non-responsive to the treatment? Read Less

I have used the practice at Roebuck and then at Great Ashby for the past 16 years,my pets have received great care both during regular opening hours and during the night at weekends/bànk holidays (alwàys the way). They have been great with both cat and dog, caring and accomodating. The good service runs right through the practice, from the initial contact through to consultations and operations. I would highly recommend them. Read Less

My dog broke her leg whilst we were on holiday and the dog sitter brought her in. I spoke to the vet, Liz, over the phone and she was brilliant, explained our options and was very caring and understanding. By the time we came home everything was sorted out and we picked her up with aftercare instructions and meds. When our naughty pooch chewed her bandage Liz came in on her day off and sorted her out. I could not be more grateful for such a caring veterinarian. Thank you Liz and team! Read Less

Been going to this vets with two cats for years. The last four years i have been on incapacity benefit and boy do they let you know it. I had just moved from Stevenage to Hitchin and due to the move my benefits were late getting into my bank. As my appointment was booked for 8am and they open at 8am and i had a 20 min drive i came for my appointment and asked if they could invoice me for the jab for my cat. They declined and said they would not treat my cat. How bad is that. I have previously been invoiced with no problem and always paid up. Money talks i guess. I was told if i went into a supermarket i would have to pay and it is the same with them. I didnt know one classed animals the same as buying food. As it happens i have just checked with my bank and the money has now gone in and they could have had their money if they had just waited half an hour. Read Less
