At Companion Care we know your pet is a much loved part of the family and you want them to enjoy a long, healthy life. This is why our veterinary teams, made up of animal loving experts, firmly believe in providing the highest level of care and treating every pet they see like they would their own. Every Companion Care practice is equipped with the latest in technology, which means we can offer your pets the personalised care they need. Our practices are also designed to make your pet’s time with us as comfortable as possible; just like kids don’t always like going to the dentist, we know pets don’t always like going to the vets! Our waiting areas are light and spacious (and with floors that can cope with little accidents) and we also have separate dog and cat wards so your pet can recuperate more comfortably after any treatment. Our vets will explain all clinical terms so you fully understand what is happening to your pet and you are fully involved in their treatment plan. This also includes being completely transparent in our pricing, so you can make an informed choice on the treatment that you want your pet to receive. Come and see for yourself at your local Companion Care, why not take a practice tour?

Although they were fully aware I was waiting and there was no one in front of me, I was still kept waiting even after chasing them 3 times. NEVER EVER USE THIS VETS! I adopted a rabbit through Pets at Home and was given a voucher for free vaccinations, health check and neutering. Booked my lovely rabbit in for his vaccinations, took him there today for his vaccinations only to be told that they wouldn't be able to do them due to an old outstanding vet bill which they haven't collected on due to the fact it was the treatment they gave to one of my cats that led to him dying. They have had a whole week to contact me to advise me of this but left it until I arrived at the vets to tell me, saying that only the manager could authorise it being done but he is in India! All this company wants is money, avoid at all costs! Read Less

Before the easter bank holiday 2017, my 12.5 yr old gsd X saluki took a turn for the worse. Within less than a day she stopped drinking, eating, was being sick, drooling and her tummy was blowing up like a balloon. Companion Care Vets got her in the same day, took blood tests and got the results back within an hour. She had an ultrasound, x rays and further blood/urine tests and was diagnosed with pyometra, an infection in her uterus becoming life threatening by the hour. Due to the bank hol, she was referred to the pet hospital as 24 hr urgent care was needed & immediate surgery.
Without the superb knowledge & care from Raj and his team, my dog would not be here today. I cannot express how grateful I am to Raj for his professionalism and efficiency in treating my baby. I must also mention how considerate he was to my financial position & gave me various treatment/ options throughout.
I cannot fault the care received at this practice and based on the above traumatic experience, I would highly recommend Raj and his team. Thank you

The worst vet I have ever come across, and unfortunately I am told he is the only vet at that surgery. He couldn't have shown less interest in my kitten, who I took in for a mere 'new kitten check'. I didn't take him in that day for vaccinations etc. Yet the vet had them drawn up in the syringes already. I stopped him before he put them in my kitten and explained that wasn't what I was there for (kitten had an upset tummy so I knew that would make it worse). He seemed genuinely annoyed that I wasn't permitting the vaccines that day... you'd think he works on commission from vaccinations! He then put the drawn up vaccine back in the vial, despite it having been sat out and drawn up on the worktop for a period of time - he said he was putting the vaccine away for the next kitten? I had planned on a 35 bill as that's what I had been quoted but on leaving the vet insisted on various different products and made a hasty exit before the receptionist was left to tell me the bill was 90+. She was only a new receptionist and didn't know how to take products off the receipt so I just paid it and reinforced I wouldn't be returning. You could see the poor receptionist was having a tough time with the incredibly ill-mannered vet! I take my hat off to her for being able to tolerate him! Read Less

Took my cat here 18 months ago after he was hyperventilating, the vet went out the back with him for a blood test then came back and said we should put him to sleep as it had suddenly got worse but had no idea why, when I demanded to know what he thought might be wrong he said internal bleeding and the cat was 13 years old so wasn't worth bothering with further investigation. I begged to see my cat before any decisions were made and eventually I was allowed to go into the surgery where I found my cats arm had a huge chunk of skin shredded off and was in great distress.
I insisted on taking my cat to another vets where I ended up at Newnham court who instantly took him in and put him in an oxygen chamber to stabalise him after his traumatic visit at pets at home. After several days of getting him back to good health they soon found it was a mere thyroid issue and could be controlled with medication. Had the vet at pets at home been less forceful and aggressive with my cat he wouldn't have suffered the traumer.
I've taken my cat to Newnham courts ever since and honestly am overwhelmed with their professionalism, kindness and skill, and their checkups were at least 10 cheaper than pets at home! Read Less

The vet is clearly very experienced and knows what he's doing but he gives treatments without checking you want them first. For example we told him that when our dog was being vaccinated we wanted to do kennel cough later as we couldn't afford to do it at the same time as the others, he did it anyway and charged us. On another occasion our dog was being treated for a bladder infection and he gave her worm treatment without checking with us first, this is not covered on our insurance so given the choice we'd have bought over the counter worm treatment which would have been a LOT cheaper. Be very careful when dealing with this guy.Read Less
