Canterbury Companion Care

Canterbury, Kent
General Info
At Companion Care we know your pet is a much loved part of the family and you want them to enjoy a long, healthy life. This is why our veterinary teams, made up of animal loving experts, firmly believe in providing the highest level of care and treating every pet they see like they would their own.
Every Companion Care practice is equipped with the latest in technology, which means we can offer your pets the personalised care they need. Our practices are also designed to make your pet’s time with us as comfortable as possible; just like kids don’t always like going to the dentist, we know pets don’t always like going to the vets! Our waiting areas are light and spacious (and with floors that can cope with little accidents) and we also have separate dog and cat wards so your pet can recuperate more comfortably after any treatment.
Our vets will explain all clinical terms so you fully understand what is happening to your pet and you are fully involved in their treatment plan. This also includes being completely transparent in our pricing, so you can make an informed choice on the treatment that you want your pet to receive.
Come and see for yourself at your local Companion Care, why not take a practice tour?

I registered at this veterinary practice when I moved to the local area around 5 years ago. I had minor dealings with them over the years, which was always a pleasant enough experience. The staff were always very nice, polite and compassionate. Then one of my Dogs went lame and I had to see the owner as he is the specialist (apparently). From the first moment I met Duncan Green (The Owner) I did not like him. He showed no empathy, concern or compassion for my Dog at all. The other Vets would greet you and say hello to the dog. This man didn't even look at my dog (who was there for lameness) as I walked in to his room. He is like a robot € he shows no emotion in his actions, face, voice, and general person. I could almost see pounds signs in his eyes when I dealt with him - which would appear all he is there for. He was rude to me on our first meeting, (sighed and walked off) after an answer I gave to one of the questions I was asked, to which later he apologised saying he had a bad day. He barely explained anything to me, so I had to ask lots of questions, to which he took umbrage to explain, so he answered them in the most convoluted way possible (lots of vet talk € as if he was talking to another vet). After spending around 1,000 to treat my dog, and numerous visits, I told Duncan Green that he was still lame, to which he replied he looked fine to him € Job done, NEXT! 8 months later I have changed vets and been referred to Noel Fitzpatricks€ Practice (The Super Vet) for my Dog to be treated as he is still lame, just as I told Duncan Green he was. I also told Duncan upon being referred; that the reason was I really didn't like his attitude since our first meeting, to which he replied "Well I Think You'll Find The Feeling Is Mutual". I cannot believe that this is the way he talks to customers, and told him I'll be changing vets first thing in the morning and to have my file ready to be transferred. He later rang back and apologised yet again for his behaviour, saying he had a bad day again. Now I don't give a F*** if you've had a bad day Duncan Green, my dog€s in pain and having a bad day every day thanks to your poor veterinary skills, diagnosis and treatment. I would never recommend this practice to anyone. The man is all about the money, not the animals. The place is to be avoided. Read Less

The staff at this clinic were amazing. We unfortunately had to have our cat put down due to a sudden illness that turned out to be terminal. The staff were very supportive, patient and honest about the issues, outcomes and options. They had a lot of time for us and saw us immediately when we turned up without an appointment. Our cat was as much a part of the family as any of us humans. The staff there treated him as such which was appreciated so much we bought them a thank you gift. The next day we had a knock on the door and a bouquet of flowers were delivered from the vetinary clinic with a lovely note sharing their condolences for our loss. A very personal touch that will be forever appreciated.Read Less

Friendly and helpful staff, they didn't speak down to me at all because of my age and helped me make some tough decisions.
