Minus 20 Stars in my book, we got fleeced blind by both branches . the vets don't have a clue and don't give a hoot about the animals they exploit oops i mean treat ? the stupid woman was scared stiff of our dog who wasn't nasty at all, its all about ££££££££ if you love you're pet go those extra miles folks to find a good vet, this one's owned by a very big company this is not a small family run practis its owned by a very large corporation that over charge you for drugs treatment then they will refer to the other place in dover road and LOOKOUT !!! we got ripped off to the tune of £6000 . i kid you not Read Less

With my cats condition of what ive now been told after three attempts and vet bills is its an allergy and he will have to only eat royal canin sensity control food (which he is and now condition is back so clearly its not just that thats the problem) back to the point of why i would not recommend this vets to anyone is because when i first went down with my cat and his skin sores i was told a diagnoses and given treatment when i went back and it was a different vet she told me something different about the condition and treatment then the 3rd time i went and saw the same vet as the first time she yet again told me different to the first time and went against what she had said the first time so they seem one in perticular that they dont really have a clue then she give me the excuse of im from Italy and we do things different there so i make mistake ok fair enough they apologised but if it was a serious life threatening problem then that just is not good enough, also some staff at reception are extremely ignorant and rude a few lovely but the others let it down i was fumming at there attitude towards me from a different thing to the cat problem, the only good thing is the pet plan and tbh other places proberly do it so i will change vets! My advice is dont bother especially after reading some other reviews on here! Read Less

This happened around six months ago but we are still grieving so have held off this review until now. My darling boy cat Noodle (who we all loved like a second child) was diagnosed with a UTI (urinary tract infection). We went straight to Maison Dieu who gave him an injection in the scruff of his neck. Took him back a week or two later because he was not getting any better. They gave him some tablets which again did nothing. They did not seem concerned. In the end we had to rush him up to an emergency vets (I recommend going to Barton Court or the emergency service Vets Now, who dealt with Noo, who take over in the evenings and on Sundays) who kept him in for three days as they saw he was in danger. My lovely boy got better and we took him home, but not after a big lesson from the vet about Noo being overweight. I do admit this was all on us since we feed him but not once did Maison Dieu ever bring up Noo being over weight. They always said he was healthy (he was genetically a big cat, even Vets Now realized this) but according to Vets Now, Noo was very very overweight which of course did not help his condition. So a diet ensued which was working. Sadly however, the infection was still rife in his system so a month later we had another rush trip up to Vets Now again. They said the infection was so rampant that even if we did the same as last time (staying in for a few days with a catheter and on constant pain meds) it would work but unfortunately the infection was so bad it would only relieve him for a short while and it would just delay the inevitable. Letting Noodle go was one of the most painful experiences my family and I had to endure. Maybe it would have been different if Maison Dieu saw the danger straight away, maybe it wouldn't. Who can say? But I do think they need to be more caring and think that there might be more at play than something a simple injection or a few pills could cure. We recently added two new boy kittens to our household. They certainly do not replace Noodle in our hearts but we love them and are definitely registering them with Barton Court. Read Less

If I could give this surgery minus stars I would; This surgery killed two of my cats. I took one in at 5:30 on a Friday evening as his stomach was swollen and he was having trouble breathing. When I arrived I was told "we'll have a look but we shut in half an hour". He died the next day. My other cat died of a feline injection site sarcoma because this surgery STILL injects vaccinations into the scuff of the neck and the advice is to inject in the thigh so the leg can be removed if the site becomes cancerous. They've truly broken my heart. I am about to rescue another cat and will categorically not be taking him here. Read Less

I left this surgery, because I was begining to worry about my elderly pet's safety in their hands. They have, in the past, prescribed the wrong medication - steroids for an ulcerated eye, which made the condition worse and, lately, recommended dental surgery, which, it turns out, was not strictly necessary. More worryingly, there are indications that previous dental work done by them has been carried out inexpertly. My pet's mouth is a wreckage of prodruding root stumps. I can no longer trust them with my pet's care. Read Less
