We had two guinea pigs, both who have now sadly passed away but were registered here. We have visited these vets on 3 occasions (twice for one guinea pig and once for the other). Our first visit went okay as they prescribed medication for an abscess. The next time we went in was when our guinea pig was heavily losing weight - he was checked, turned away and we were told he was fine. Sadly, he passed away shortly after... clearly he wasn't okay. Just recently, we took in our other guinea pig who was also losing weight in a similar fashion. The vet's first call of action was to put him to sleep due to his age (he was only 5 1/2 years old - not exactly the oldest guinea pig on the planet)! No effort was made to try medication until we'd asked if any medication was available. Eventually we were prescribed some medication and were told to try it. Personally, I felt like they only really dealt with larger animals like cats and dogs; they didn't seem knowledgeable enough for me to trust them again. Went to another vet (in Welling) a week later, and they were much more knowledgeable, had more empathy and gave more information than just wanting to put him to sleep. Oh, and they were also cheaper! Companion Care Vets may be good for cats and dogs, but I wouldn't put guinea pigs or other small animals in their hands... Read Less
