General Info
Burnham House are a six-vet mixed practice right on the south coast of Kent. They have branch surgeries in the neighbouring town of Folkestone, Whitfield village just outside Dover and in Walmer near Deal.

They are a General Practice for all animal species and also accept referrals of avian (bird), reptile and all exotic species from other veterinary practices and zoological/wildlife collections across Kent and beyond; as well as surgical referrals for orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery.
Burnham House run their own 24-hour, 365 days per year, emergency service based in Dover and are happy to do home visits.
The Practice are RCVS Accredited at Tier 2 – the highest level available to a general practice – and are also a registered Veterinary Nurse Training Practice.

It has been sold to Medivet, before it was sold these comments were not representative. I can’t say if they are now as our pet has excellent service.

We waited one hour and 15 mins past our appointment time. We were there to discuss our concerns with a treatment for our dog previous to this appointment. Given that we already had grave concerns with the procedure undertaken and of the after care discharge as well as the communications within this practice to be told that our "name"did not come up as waiting by the vet taking appointments. Not the first time this has happened in the last four months and this only served to heighten our distress. We have been "customers" of the practice since 2011 and are very disappointed that since the senior founding vet retirement it appears that fundamental "care and concern" has fallen by the wayside. I will not going forward be recommending your practice to our many guests who stay with us as I can not be confident that due care and diligence is a guarantee.

They prescribed medication which when checked had a 100% mark up on the same products available online from reputable suppliers. They charged for the consultation and ...
Took my dog with an ear problem
They prescribed medication which when checked had a 100% mark up on the same products available online from reputable suppliers. They charged for the consultation and asked me to return to check if the treatment was effective - I foolishly assumed this was part of the treatment package. Ten days later I was asked how my dog had been, ears were looked at by eye. No equipment no intervention and no treatment
Total time less than four minutes. Unbelievably they charged me again for a visit they had requested, stating it was a separate consultation. Changed vets immediately. Avoid- rip off practice more interested in taking your money at any and every opportunity.

Transferred vets after Anna house in Hythe closed. Receptionist are abrasive and unhelpful.
Constant excuses for delays. I will be looking for another vets to use in future.

After taking my guinea pig there with very bad dental issues and an abscess that had pushed his eye back in the socket I am elated with the success of the op and the care he was given! I honestly didn't think my little boy would survive, very happy piggy mummy/slave :D

If you love your pet you would avoid this veterinary... They fleeced me for money knowing I love my dog and still wasn't none the wiser what the problem was after over a month of taking him to Burnham...
If you love your pet you would avoid this veterinary... They fleeced me for money knowing I love my dog and still wasn't none the wiser what the problem was after over a month of taking him to Burnham house... They had over 1300 of my money... I took him to another veterinary for a second opinion... (Lakeview veterinary centre crete Rd West folkestone)
They booked him in the next day for an x-ray and scan and found the problem and operated on him straight away...he is now on the mend...just wish I took him there from the start... Would of saved my dog pain and unnecessary treatment plus I would of saved over 1000
