My bulldog puppy had a common condition (cherry eye) - the vet said to us the best thing to do is to go under GA and stitch it back in. £450 the procedure cost and 2 weeks later it failed. Was told that they’d do it again ‘but at a discount’ a bulldog pup having the same op under GA a couple weeks apart?! Went to a bulldog specialist vets in Surrey who simply cut it out and said putting cherry eye back in is totally ineffective as stitches dissolve and it pops back out. My little boy was put at risk and put under GA for absolutely no reason. And they wanted to do it AGAIN. I was told vet would speak to me personally but never did. Wonder why. Would not trust them. Trying to do a wrong procedure twice on a little puppy is absolutely criminal. Read Less

We have used this practice for a long time. Wonderful caring people. Our Springer Ralphie had a right hind leg ligament surgery about 18 MTHS ago everyone was so understanding of our anxiety due his recovery. He healed well and the surgery was a success On a less happy note, when we have had previous dogs put to sleep, the vets have come to our house. Good vets. Only problem is they don't do payment plans for people who can't pay much. It's £30 just to see the vet without treatment. What a rip off. I know there is a pdsa etc but it's getting over there that's the problem if you don't drive. Read Less

Last month I had to have my dog Ernest put to sleep he had a Tumor although he had one removed in January another came back. Sadly this little fella couldn't go on any longer he was 12 and an amazing dog he was. He was my best mate and I miss him so much just can't seem to move on . But I want to thank all the staff at mote park vets I cannot fault them in any way that were helpful ,polite and above all when the time came they showed they cared Ernest was not scared at all they made him feel at ease and my self at such a sad time. Jack had a castration last Friday , as you can imagine I was a little concerned when I pick him up obviously very drowsy the lady that brought him out couldn't have been more caring. When I got home he was shaking a lot so I just rang the vets just to confirm that this is normal they were so reassuring and so lovely and said any problems please don't hesitate to ring back again they were so lovely. I was using another vet but was not happy with their service as they merely offered for same medicine I had without dog's further follow ups. It appeared that my dog had a colitis. Docs nicely advised what to do and what not to do explaining in details. Also they did further follow ups without charging. The price was better than other Vets as well. Read Less

It is always such a pleasant experience when visiting Mote Park Vets, all staff that have addressed us do so in a caring manner and you really feel like your needs for your animal are addressed. Thank you so much for looking after Gizmo today during his operation to have a growth removed from his leg. At the ripe old age of 16, we were pre warned that there was a 50/50 chance of loosing him on the operating table. I'm pleased to say he came home looking for food and doesn't seem bothered at all about what he has been through. Live in Eastbourne and took one of our whippets here on recommendation as Shamus the vet understands whippets and greyhounds. We were not disappointed he was fabulous and verified what we had thought that Willow had something wrong with her back end. He has done x-rays and been very helpful in us understanding what to do. I would like to thank carina for all the time, hard work, compassion and patience she spent trying desperately hard to spare the suffering of my dog barnaby. He was rushed to the vets late November with heart failure, I almost lost him twice and was told he probably wouldn't make Christmas. He made Christmas and the new year but unfortunately took a turn for the worse and sadly I had to make the hardest decision every. My baby dog passed away today. Our Poppy was rushed in for an op after swallowing what can only be assumed is a extremely proportionate round stone, which was making her ill. She said she was brilliantly looked after, even having a nurse stay with her OVERNIGHT to administer pain relief and keep her fluids up- that's dedication! Despite not being registered I rushed my beloved springer in after she sustained a nasty injury while on an afternoon walk. Darcey received exceptional care and after a quick stitch or four was back home with us by the evening. I am new to Mote Park Vets, Northumberland Road. My cat was very poorly when I took him there but vet Corinna was amazing she assesed him quickly, taking blood tests. I didn't have to wait long for the results which as a worried owner was a blessing. The staff were all very kind and helpful. My cat has been prescribed medication and is now back to his old self. Great friendly staff, putting both myself and my dogs at ease. So much so, that when my dogs have to visit, they are more than happy to walk off into the back with the nurses, almost forgetting I'm there at all, which leaves me feeling safe in the knowledge that my dogs are happy to be left. In June I brought my 5 month old cocker spaniel Bruce to Mote Park Vets after being run over, I had never been to the practice before. I turned up late on the Friday night and had from the start exceptional care for Bruce. He had two fractures within his Pelvis and a fractured neck of femur. 6 months on he is back to normal and a fit, healthy, working cocker spaniel. Further to my pet having surgery here, I was concerned so I called vets they advised too give her a little while which I did, I called back a week later advising my concern again, also asked a few questions on the phone before going to the appointment - only to get told false info.... seems like the receptionist wasn't paying any attention to our phone call which I found following the visit!! I was upset by this as I had previously had good service so I wrote a letter of complaint, hoping the situation to get resolved swiftly and professionally. I received a phone call to my letter from Angie the practice manager - on answering the phone she was very hostile, unhelpful and not at all understanding. All she could talk about was money and the price of the appointment - which was not what my complaint was about!!! It was about the mis communication as her staff had not listened... however all she could say to that was the misunderstanding was all my fault and hung the phone up on me - how very professional - I think NOT. I was treated and spoken to like dirt on the bottom of her shoe.. I would never ever step a foot back in this veterinary surgery after being treated like this not even if they paid me.... Read Less
