If I could leave minus stars I would. Two months ago, I took my 15yr old cat in as an emergency as he had collapsed. When I got there, I was seen by a vet who gave him a cursory examination and told me that there was "nothing wrong with him". S/he bundled him back in his basket and I left. The admin staff shouted after me to "pay now!" I have been a client of the practice for forty years and never not paid in full immediately. I was too upset by the cursory treatment of me and my cat to do so. The following morning he was unable to stand. I took him straight back and was seen by a young female vet. She gave my cat a cursory examination after I explained the situation and requested that my cat be pts. She said that would be "fine" as there was a mass cremation happening that afternoon and she would make sure that he was "squashed in on the end". I consider this comment to have been heartless and disrespectful to both me and my cat. She took him out to the rear of the consulting room and I heard laughing and chatter. I consider this to have been inappropriate and disrespectful to both me and my cat. When she came back, she started discussing the upcoming Grand National horse race, whilst beginning the injection. My cat leapt out of her grasp and fell off the table. I picked him up, stroked him and set him gently back on the table. This was repeated a further two times before the vet could manage a successful outcome. By this time, I was in floods of tears and again ignored the administrators' demands that I "pay now". The bill came the next day. £600. I paid it via my credit card. Later, the practice sent me a paw print and a condolence card. I didn't want a paw print taken from my dead cat. The whole episode was a horrible experience. I cry every day for my lovely cat. A friend sourced another feline friend who is the complete opposite to my late cat. She's lovely and excellent company. She's registered with Newnham Court Veterinary Hospital but I will take care to check who she will be seeing before taking her there. Read Less

Thank you to the lovely nurse Lucy and of course the Vetinary team at Newnham court: My Greedy Labrador ate a whole family sized Christmas pudding that a workman had left within his reach. The fast action of Lucy and the vets ensured Ronnie made a full recovery and is back home safe and sound. His loving behaviour towards all the staff and adoration of vet Dave aare very clear indications of how well Ronnie was cared for at Newnham court. Sadly Ronnie is not remorseful for his gluttony and all mince pies, Christmas pies and puddings are now barred from the house! Late hours of this morning I had to visit this vets, it was very dark I could not find my way I had to call 3 to 4 times to ask where thery were, I got a very impatient stressed vet on the phone who gave poor directions. When I arrived I was very anxious as my cat had breathing difficulties and she had been screaming in pain. I made the decision to have a 5 year old ragdoll cat put to sleep.I was advised that any testing would cost a lot of money. I could not see her in pain any longer. I stood there in tears talking to the vet and not once was I offered a tissue. I. walked away devasted by loosing my cat. out of hours costing me 206 for this to be done. I would never use this service again. if this is not posted I will copy and paste to google. I walk away having a devastating experience. I fellt unwelcome and what seemed to be a thorn in the stressed vets side after watching my cat in pain through a very difficult night.Read Less

All the vets I have seen have been good but most of my dealings have been with Sian Rosser, Katie Rose and Gail. They have always made prompt accurate diagnoses but have also been kind and caring. Quite literally the best veterinary surgery. Every single member of staff there is so friendly and helpful, and genuinely cares about each animal that walks (willingly or not) into the surgery. My dog loves going there, as she knows she will be made a fuss of, and doesn't mind the occasional injection. The organisation of the service is exceptional also; vet appointments are frequently available, and the Health Club is amazing with free nurse consultations, which can even be made on the day! My West Highland White Terrier was diagnosed with a skin condition at 5 months old. The nurses picked it up very quickly when I took him for his monthly check up with the pet health club. He was referred to Nigel straight away and we have been seeing him ever since. The pets health is the main concern of this practice. Nigel has done everything to get this condition under control, which has improved over the last 18 months. Ozzy even loves Nigel which can only be a good thing when he has to visit regularly. We've been taking our cats to Newnham Court for years now and have always been very confident that they are receiving the best possible care from both the vets and the nurses there. We joined their Pet Health Club when the scheme started so that, for a small monthly charge, we can take the cats for regular check-ups. It means that possible problems are found before they become serious. One of our cats was recently diagnosed with diffuse iris melanoma, a cancer which might have spread to other parts of his body if a Newnham Court vet hadn't spotted the tell-tale signs early. Result is that we still have a healthy and happy cat. In addition, the staff are friendly and all are clearly animal lovers: I think our older cat actually likes going to the vet because of all the fussing and cuddling that he gets! The out of hours service has been useful on occasion as well. I have been to other vets over the years and I think Newnham Court is definitely the best.Read Less

Vetianry care is great. Their accounts and attention to detail is appalling. Firstly, I was incorrectly charged so I over paid. Since then, I have visited twice to dispute this and was told both times my information would be passed on and my account was to be credited, this has not happened and now they are sending me a third letter threatening court and charging interest. I'm very unimpressed. Read Less

We have used this veterinary hospital for probably more than 15years. Our latest animal addition (a golden retriever puppy) cut the top of his paw open a couple of weeks ago. They saw him immediately, operated, and took great care of him. We have been back for a check up and then to have his stitches removed. All the staff are excellent. They care about all the animals they look after. I would highly recommend them.

Thank you Lucy and Newnham court vets, I was hysterical with worry when I arrived and your care and patience is much appreciated! Xx Read Less

I have had numerous dealings with Newnham Court Veterinary Hospital and would thoroughly recommend them. All the vets I have seen have been good but most of my dealings have been with Sian Rosser, Katie Rose and Gail. They have always made prompt accurate diagnoses but have also been kind and caring. Things have always been explained and discussed with me to enable decisions to be made. I have always been given a same day appointment if I have been concerned. The nurses are all good too and on the occasions when my dog has had to stay in I have had complete confidence that she will receive the best possible care.Read Less

I got my first ever Puppy in October. From recommendations through friends I decided to use Newnham Court vets. I have been so pleased with them. The puppy parties were brilliant and great for socialisation and all the nurses have been lovely. Paying monthly for the pet plan is great value for money. Absolutely brilliant practice, have used them before with a previous cat and yet again recently with my new kitten Mildred. Mildred is 9 months old and had accidentally swallowed some plastic stoppers which made her very poorly so when she was admitted here Jon and the team were brilliant from start to finish, friendly and helpful keeping us informed of Mildred's progress all through the evening by telephone. Needless to say Jon located the plastic in Mildred's tummy and removed them, she was so well looked after through the night and am pleased to say she bounced back to her cute playful self within days. I was so relived thank you Jon and the team you are all stars.Read Less

Overall, a fantastic place. Read Less

I would recommend the practice as your pet will be very well looked after. Read Less
