Whilst 120 miles from home we had worrying swelling around the scar where our Cocker Spaniel had recently been spayed, As a Vets for Pets client at home I searched for local branches and was surprised to find that the Sutton Road practice is open from 8.30 at weekends and was relieved to be able to get a mid-morning appointment. The reception staff were great, really friendly and interested in us and our puppy. We were lucky enough to have been given an appointment to see Ivan the Practice Principal. Everything about the way Ivan approached our dog, the care and interest he took inspired confidence, his full and well explained diagnosis ensured we fully understood both the issues our dog has and the treatment he had prescribed. Great Vets and staff are amazing.. highly recommend. It was our final visit as a family with our 15 year old boy, which they had got to know well and genuinely cared for over the years. DO NOT USE THIS VETS!!!! I would not recommend this vets to anybody at all! The vets are very friendly and they did care for our two dachshunds but the customer services from them is awful! We had two separate pet plans that covered both our dogs. We missed a payment on one of the plans and vets for pets closed it and demanded 45 for a previous consultation that our dog had!! I refused to pay this as should of been covered whilst our pet was on this plan. Meanwhile our other dog on the other plan feel extremely ill and we tried to take him to vets for pets. Even tho the staff could see that my dog was really ill they refused to see him because of the outstanding arrears on the other plan. I think this is absolutely disgusting as vets have a duty of care to animals and on that day my dog was gravely ill and because of a 45 payment they refused my dog!! After arguing with them till I was blue in the face they would not budge. I therefore told them to cancel the other pet plan as no longer wanted to continue using them. That was in august 2016 and I have just found out that they never cancelled the plan and We have been paying 19.99 for the last 4 months!!! I then called head office on Friday who explained that they would refund the money that we have paid when the plan should have been cancelled, however the refund would need to come directly to the practice so I would need to call them. I called vets4pets and I left a message for the practice manager who is also a partner in the company. I was assured he would call me yesterday and he never did, I had to call again today and leave another message. He has since called me and the tone of which he used over the phone was absolutely appalling. He went onto explain that we will not be getting a refund and even though they have a duty of care to animals they made the decision in august last year to refuse our animal an appointment. I explained to the gentleman that I had been so pleased with the vets in particular Ivan and we are extremely disappointed with how this has been handled. He went onto say that we are never welcome in the practice again!! I have recommended and referred so many friends and family here and I will not be doing so any longer. This was a veterinary practice that I felt valued their customers but they clearly don't, but also a company that really did care about all animals that come in, however I was wrong. This is not about the money but the refusal of an appointment and the tone that was used on the phone. Very disappointed!!!Read Less
