General Info
Plunkett’s Veterinary Surgery is based in Ramsgate and is a well established RCVS accredited Training Practice, and has been located at 154 High Street, Ramsgate for over 40 years.
The surgery provides excellent animal care for all companion animals.
The Grade 11 listed building has been carefully and sympathetically modified to provide a hygienic and user friendly environment, combining up to date equipment with the old fashioned personal attention to all animals entrusted in our care.
There is a fully equipped purpose built operating suite consisting of two sterile theatres and preparation area all with modern anaesthetic equipment.
The dedicated long serving staff have a strong individual commitment to the welfare of the animals they treat.
Plunkett’s Veterinary surgery is registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as an approved Training Centre for the training of Veterinary Nurses.
In February 2007 we joined CVS (UK) Ltd which enables us to share resources and discuss cases with specialists from other practices within the nationwide group to provide the very best care for our patients.
We have a branch surgery at 1 Millmead Road, Margate with computerised link so that patient notes can be conveniently accessed from both surgeries.
We provide a 24 hour Emergency Service to all our clients.

I've used this practice for 32 years now, From the time when Ray Plunkett was there. through to today now they are part of a larger group. The main vet is Allan Adams and, like Ray before him, he is the most important man in my life outside of family. He is kind, compassionate and all one could ever ask for from a vet. There are always other vets in the practice but I have had little dealing with most of them, as I prefer to deal with the senior man. If I had to move away from the area I would want to take Allan along.
I have heard a lot of people complaining about the cost of medicine and how vets rip them off with high pricing but if they are available from 3rd party suppliers, they will let you know.
With regards to vet health and the way our dogs have been cared for whenever they go in, I have nothing but praise for the practice and they are the only people I would ever entrust our dogs to.

My mother had two Yorkies , Milly 8 yrs old pedigree and Mia who was Corsa chawawa 4 yrs old no problem in fine health , after a check up Milly was spaded as suggested by the vet a week later she died...
My mother had two Yorkies , Milly 8 yrs old pedigree and Mia who was Corsa chawawa 4 yrs old no problem in fine health , after a check up Milly was spaded as suggested by the vet a week later she died of infection and kidney faliar , so the vet said Mia needed now to be spaded as risk of the infection and with in 7 days both dogs are now dead Mia was stitched and looked like there was loose skin hanging out of her stitches , the vet said well keep her in tonight sedate her and operate tmrw . In the morning she was found in a pool of her own blood how is this possible too healthy dogs never had any problems always happy and both dead within 7. Days absolutely discusting there needs to be answers here sadly we can't bring em back but it's unheard of

Although we've had to say goodbye to her, we can't thank whoever found her & the vets enough for what you've all done. The staff are so lovely & patient and allowed us to say our last goodbyes. X

We have been using Ramsgate Veterinary Surgery for more than 20 years. They have seen all eight dogs, two cats, gerbils and even my granddaughter's Degu. The vets have been there for us at the beginning of our pets' lives and inevitably at the end of them too and we have always found them to be professional, helpful when making tough decisions but most of all caring. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

Sadly last Saturday we had to have our cat Lily put to sleep due to a stroke, Plunketts you were amazing, you were sensitive and considerate not just to our needs but to Lily's as well, she was warm, comfortable and with myself and my husband when she slipped away. This morning in the post we unexpectedly got a card from you saying how sorry you were for our loss, very touching, thank you so much.

We wouldn't use any other vets - our family have used them for decades and when got our Dylan dog it was an easy decision for us. The staff are friendly and kind and I love that the vets aren't interested in the humans - just the animals and they're honest with you. The animal is the top priority which is exactly as it should be.

Our Bruce was in so much pain didn't know what was wrong took him to Plunkett s and the first thing he did was give him an injection for his pain and Valium to calm him down then checked him had x ray...
Our Bruce was in so much pain didn't know what was wrong took him to Plunkett s and the first thing he did was give him an injection for his pain and Valium to calm him down then checked him had x ray and had disc disappearing on his spine . The Vet was so caring and explained what was wrong and what we can do. The nurses were so good with him they all seemed so caring. Thank you so much xxx

I've used this practice for 32 years now, From the time when Ray Plunkett was there. through to today now they are part of a larger group. The main vet is Allan Adams and, like Ray before him, he is the most important man in my life outside of family. He is kind, compassionate and all one could ever ask for from a vet. There are always other vets in the practice but I have had little dealing with most of them, as I prefer to deal with the senior man. If I had to move away from the area I would want to take Allan along.

We have been using Ramsgate Veterinary Surgery for more than 20 years. They have seen all eight dogs, two cats, gerbils and even my granddaughter's Degu. The vets have been there for us at the beginning of our pets' lives and inevitably at the end of them too and we have always found them to be professional, helpful when making tough decisions but most of all caring. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

We wouldn't use any other vets - our family have used them for decades and when got our Dylan dog it was an easy decision for us. The staff are friendly and kind and I love that the vets aren't interested in the humans - just the animals and they're honest with you. The animal is the top priority which is exactly as it should be.

Our Bruce was in so much pain didn't know what was wrong took him to Plunkett s and the first thing he did was give him an injection for his pain and Valium to calm him down then checked him had x ray and had disc disappearing on his spine . The Vet was so caring and explained what was wrong and what we can do. The nurses were so good with him they all seemed so caring. Thank you so much xxx
