At Companion Care we know your pet is a much loved part of the family and you want them to enjoy a long, healthy life. This is why our veterinary teams, made up of animal loving experts, firmly believe in providing the highest level of care and treating every pet they see like they would their own. Every Companion Care practice is equipped with the latest in technology, which means we can offer your pets the personalised care they need. Our practices are also designed to make your pet’s time with us as comfortable as possible; just like kids don’t always like going to the dentist, we know pets don’t always like going to the vets! Our waiting areas are light and spacious (and with floors that can cope with little accidents) and we also have separate dog and cat wards so your pet can recuperate more comfortably after any treatment. Our vets will explain all clinical terms so you fully understand what is happening to your pet and you are fully involved in their treatment plan. This also includes being completely transparent in our pricing, so you can make an informed choice on the treatment that you want your pet to receive. Come and see for yourself at your local Companion Care, why not take a practice tour?

Took my rabbit here for free vaccination and health check. Receptionists are very lovely and friendly really helpful and seem to know their stuff and show a real interest.
The vet however, he was rude. He barely looked at my poor rabbit. Other than weighing him briefly and grabbing him by the scruff to give him a shot. So much for a "health check". I asked about some scabs on his back that I was concerned about and he brushed off the question saying he was probably nipped by other rabbits. Where as this might have been true, he didnt even look at the problem to confirm it!
He then spent the rest of our visit lecturing us about how he felt that rabbits should be kept. He barely told us any information about what vaccination was being given or his weight. Overall we came out feeling deflated and bullied and not any better about our animals health.
Safe to say we will not be going back. Which is unfortunate as the experience with the receptionists and staff in pets at home were lovely and helpful! Read Less

I found this visit to take my elderly cat very unsatisfactory. The staff on the phone and at the desk were very polite and courteous, but the Veterinarian was rude, he didn't explain anything clearly to me. My cat had a problem with her ear and I had to ask twice for him to look at it before he did. Most of the visit was spent watching him use a computer to find out how much the cost of tests for a urinary infection would cost. Which turned out to be astronomical. His "bedside manner" was awful and I found him rude. Having said this I know that he was not the regular Vet. I have emailed them with my thoughts and await a response from the owner of this practice. Read Less

My 2yr old come too, we got in the car on leaving him and she picked up on how rough the vet was and how unhappy the pet was. Very disappointed with the care my 2 dogs have received here.
When one dog needed a wound stitched up, I don't believe the correct approach was taken. When it opened again just a few days later, I had to pay the same fee again! 1000 in total to stitch an inch wound!
More recently, my other dog had a Urinary Tract Infection. I paid 100 for tests and was quoted a further 800 for scans - antibiotics were NOT given as the vet didn't feel "it was appropriate" because of 'antibiotic resistance'
I went to another vet where the same tests were carried out and antibiotics were given (for less than 100) and he's as right as rain.
I've lost trust in the vets at Companion Care. It seems it has become normal to carry out unnecessary tests and treatments because the insurance companies will pay up. No thought is given to those without insurance.
I've given it 2 stars because the reception staff are brilliant and caring. Read Less

This practice is a scam! Avoid! They build up your bills to enormous level by hidden charges and deceptions. We made an appointment for vaccination only (hooked on apparent last day deal). The vet instead of vaccination examined the dog, found some allergic skin irritation and raised the bill to unaffordable FOUR TIMES the price. When we've refused the proposed treatment they issued us a bill for a consultation.
In vain we've tried to reason with them: €we did not asked for a consultation, nor we were told that it could be compulsory..€ Eventually, insulted by a rude receptionist, we left the practice with NO VACCINATION DONE and with a consultation fee bill.
Later another vet practice suggested that the alleged skin irritation is not an issue € 6 anti-fungal shampoo will do. Read Less

WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER COME ACROSS!!!
I cannot agree more with the women on the previous post !!!
This company also ALMOST KILLED MY CAT DUE TO NEGLIGENCE!!
My partner and I have an on going dispute with Companion Care after our pet was in a serious car accident.
This companies advice was to keep our pet drugged up for 6 days, moving him back and forth from a day care center to a night care center until the staff member who was able to deal with it returned from holiday.
shocked and bewildered my partner and i did all the ground work seeking advice from other practices who informed us the case would need to be referred.
My partner and i had to plead for a referral and the next day our poor cat fell into a critical condition and had to be rushed to The Royal Veterinary College for a blood transfusion in order to stay alive.
We were instructed from the RVC to first discuss it with the company before seeking legal advice. I documented our case via e-mail to the staff at Companion Care who stated they would review policies and procedures and contact us with in 10 days.
The 10 days has since passed and we have herd nothing.
Your pet is a serious risk if you take them to this practice !!! Read Less

Appalling organisation... leave you cold as they simply want to involve you in lengthy expensive procedures when your pet doesn't need it. My cocker spaniel simply gets an eye infection from time to time and they would not issue a repeat prescription which clears it up quickly. They want to sedate my dog and do an intensive eye test. They were only interested in whether I could afford to pay recurring charges of which they would set up as it would be an ongoing issue and that I should get insured for it.
I have had cocker spaniels all my life and know they're simply prone to dry eye which can be managed easily with eyedrops it shouldn't cost me a fortune! How vulgar that a vet should be so grasping for cash without any concern or a care for your pet!!
I explained my dog gets highly stressed when visiting the vet. The previous time (he went in just for a booster) and came out highly stressed with the possibility of paying hundreds of pounds for sedation and an operation to look at his eye, castration(!) and ongoing treatments for the eye.
The vet hauled him out the back as my dog is very hyper and sensitive and the vet couldn't seem to control him, and me any my daughter were left listening to agonising whelps, I really didn't know whether to intervene. Apparently the vet had taken it upon himself to clear out the dogs anal glands (!) and returned (having changed his trousers !) with a traumatised dog who he said he had taught who was master!!
This morning after being advised by a frosty receptionist that they would not give him a repeat prescription without a consultation as I didn't think it necessary to cause stress to my dog, I have decided to change vets.
I would not recommend this vets at all and should have changed a long time ago. They are only interested in how much money they can possibly squeeze out of you and have absolutely no care or consideration for the pets they are supposed to be treating.Read Less
