Pennards are the best vets I have ever been to. They are professional, friendly, caring and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. The surgeries are spotlessly clean. They really do care for animals and for your pet - not in it for the money like a lot of vets! I had my dog and rabbit with them and now my cat is on their great value petplan. From the moment you walk in the staff are lovely, from the receptionists through to the nurses and vets. All I can say is they are wonderful if you really want the best for your pet go to Pennards. Caroline has been amazing and has looked after Brandy with the care and affection as if she was her own dog. Ann is the best, most experienced and caring person on the front desk I have ever met. Pennard Vets - The Vet that doesn't care about its treatment of animals, just profits. I am appalled at the inconsiderate & mercenary nature of the self-proclaiming "Compassionate, caring & professional" veterinarian, Pennard's in Tonbridge. Our family has used this frank excuse of a "caring" vets for several years and are now seriously considering whether to ever have dealings with them again; having had a string of bad experiences with no legitimate explanations. The latest, sparking my absolute disgust & willingness to downtread this money-extorting establishment, relates to a stray cat not even belonging to us. My mother who has been feeding him outside the house for some time noticed he had a severe limp around a week ago, took him to Pennard's seeking treatment & left him with them. They informed her that he is not micro-chipped & there is no known owner, therefore they would seek assistance from the RSPCA for his care. My mother, who is very caring, wanted to be in the know of his treatment & told Pennard's that if no owner came forward she would be happy to adopt him; this was clearly the point at which they saw . Having now been left with Pennard's for over a week we are told that the cat has thus far received NO TREATMENT other than pain relief as there has been nobody to PAY FOR THE TREATMENT but they strongly suspect he may have A BROKEN LEG; as so much time has now passed it limits options for treatment & they have proposed simply AMPUTATING HIS LEG as the cost of treatment would be very high. To my utter disgust, the emotionally black-mailing "veterinarians" have then "generously" offered to cover the cost of the amputation if my mother adopts him and takes out a pet care plan with them for him!!! WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE??? What vets establishment proclaims to care about animals but REFUSES TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY TREATMENT WITHOUT PAYMENT & then attempts to BLACKMAIL a caring lady into paying for it? You should be ashamed of yourselves Pennard's; whoever manages your branch is a sorry excuse of a human being & your staff should be ashamed to work for such a money-orientated firm if they truly care about the well-being of animals. To shed a little more light on our past experiences:- One of our cats died (at a very young age) a few hours following a "routine, very low risk" operation - No true explanation provided; Another cat we were told required major dental work at a very high price by one vet, once sedated by another vet we were told his dental condition was fine & no work was required! (Well done to, at least one, honest vet); One of our dogs had sporadic seizures over a period of a year or so - No diagnosis or treatment provided despite several bills for examination - She died some time later when it was finally diagnosed (too late) that she had internal bleeding; Our next dog was hit by a car - Told by Pennard's Tonbridge that chance of survival was almost 0%, pretty much condemning him to being put down - Upon taking him to another specialist & Pennard's in Sevenoaks he received excellent treatment & has made a full recovery. All in all this this lot at Pennard's in Tonbridge clearly either do not have a clue what they are doing, or simply do not care unless there's bundles of money involved. I certainly will NEVER take my pets here, I am strongly advising my mother not to anymore & personally would like to see them pay for their consistent lack of care if there was a feasible way of doing so. They rip you off with return visits at 45. Antibiotics, I wanted s prescription didn't want to pay 40, they got all funny about it and I eventually won, paid for the prescription and got the antibiotics for 3.24 from the chemist! When they checked my dog for his booster, they said his ears needed treatment fair enough so 70 plus pounds later. Please come next week. To be in there for seconds I thought it was all paid for and this was a quick check which it was but no 45. They don't care about your dog, it's do you have pet insurance yes I say. But I have house insurance doesn't mean I claim on it. I love my dog like my child but I don't throw medication down it's throat and make up an illness like his ears. I now have a brilliant caring vet with good standards and ethics not this practice.
