Our much-loved spaniel, Higgins, has been looked after by Pennards in Sevenoaks since he joined the Puppy Club 13 years ago. In that time he has been happy, loving and enthusiastic but encountered some challenges along the way some of which were minor but others more serious including the need for surgery. Never once in all this time have we ever felt anything less but total confidence and reassurance in the care he has received. The sense of care, compassion and genuine affection that permeates throughout the team is tangible. We could not and would never entrust Higgins' wellbeing to anyone else. January 2025 Read Less

After many years of being a dog and cat owner, plus a pony and a variety of small animals,it has been necessary to attend numerous Veterinary Practices in both London and the Westcountry. Without a doubt Pennard Vets(Sevenoaks) are the best that I have ever known. They have been providing excellent care for Alfie and Archie my two Labradors and feline Oscar for five years.Recently Alfie has been treated for a knee injury, having managed to rupture a cruciate ligament. He is a very lively, highly strung dog and seeing him through surgery and the subsequent recovery time was made so much easier than it could have been by the support of the whole team! Pennard Vets - The Vet that doesn't care about its treatment of animals, just profits. I am appalled at the inconsiderate & mercenary nature of the self-proclaiming "Compassionate, caring & professional" veterinarian, Pennard's in Tonbridge. Our family has used this frank excuse of a "caring" vets for several years and are now seriously considering whether to ever have dealings with them again; having had a string of bad experiences with no legitimate explanations. The latest, sparking my absolute disgust & willingness to downtread this money-extorting establishment, relates to a stray cat not even belonging to us. My mother who has been feeding him outside the house for some time noticed he had a severe limp around a week ago, took him to Pennard's seeking treatment & left him with them. They informed her that he is not micro-chipped & there is no known owner, therefore they would seek assistance from the RSPCA for his care. My mother, who is very caring, wanted to be in the know of his treatment & told Pennard's that if no owner came forward she would be happy to adopt him; this was clearly the point at which they saw . Having now been left with Pennard's for over a week we are told that the cat has thus far received NO TREATMENT other than pain relief as there has been nobody to PAY FOR THE TREATMENT but they strongly suspect he may have A BROKEN LEG; as so much time has now passed it limits options for treatment & they have proposed simply AMPUTATING HIS LEG as the cost of treatment would be very high. To my utter disgust, the emotionally black-mailing "veterinarians" have then "generously" offered to cover the cost of the amputation if my mother adopts him and takes out a pet care plan with them for him!!! WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE??? What vets establishment proclaims to care about animals but REFUSES TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY TREATMENT WITHOUT PAYMENT & then attempts to BLACKMAIL a caring lady into paying for it? You should be ashamed of yourselves Pennard's; whoever manages your branch is a sorry excuse of a human being & your staff should be ashamed to work for such a money-orientated firm if they truly care about the well-being of animals. To shed a little more light on our past experiences:- One of our cats died (at a very young age) a few hours following a "routine, very low risk" operation - No true explanation provided; Another cat we were told required major dental work at a very high price by one vet, once sedated by another vet we were told his dental condition was fine & no work was required! (Well done to, at least one, honest vet); One of our dogs had sporadic seizures over a period of a year or so - No diagnosis or treatment provided despite several bills for examination - She died some time later when it was finally diagnosed (too late) that she had internal bleeding; Our next dog was hit by a car - Told by Pennard's Tonbridge that chance of survival was almost 0%, pretty much condemning him to being put down - Upon taking him to another specialist & Pennard's in Sevenoaks he received excellent treatment & has made a full recovery. All in all this this lot at Pennard's in Tonbridge clearly either do not have a clue what they are doing, or simply do not care unless there's bundles of money involved. I certainly will NEVER take my pets here, I am strongly advising my mother not to anymore & personally would like to see them pay for their consistent lack of care if there was a feasible way of doing so. They rip you off with return visits at 45. Antibiotics, I wanted s prescription didn't want to pay 40, they got all funny about it and I eventually won, paid for the prescription and got the antibiotics for 3.24 from the chemist! When they checked my dog for his booster, they said his ears needed treatment fair enough so 70 plus pounds later. Please come next week. To be in there for seconds I thought it was all paid for and this was a quick check which it was but no 45. They don't care about your dog, it's do you have pet insurance yes I say. But I have house insurance doesn't mean I claim on it. I love my dog like my child but I don't throw medication down it's throat and make up an illness like his ears. I now have a brilliant caring vet with good standards and ethics not this practice. I had seen a really hard up old lady with her beloved cat in your vets and like she said you'd taken her rent money. Shame on you. You should have given her the prescription and told her a cheaper option. That cat was her only companion and she loved him, you argued with me and it a policing that you should have on the wall detailing this fact to animal owners. I'd rather people treated their pets and not be afraid to go the vets then animals stuffer because of vets like you.Read Less

Thank you to all the team at Pennards for taking professionalism to the highest level and providing a friendly and caring service for both your patients and their owners! Read Less

The Sevenoaks branch has been fab with my two cats- particularly my Alice who was taken to the practice as a stray and stayed there until I fell in love with her and brought her home. My other cat is being helped (or should I say I'm being helped!) with weight loss and is very nearly back to 'regular cat size' (!) Fab service, very happy and particularly recommend the pet health club - thank you!! Read Less

Thank you to all at Pennards Tonbridge and Sevenoaks (particularly Meg) who have looked after Bertie so well over the past two weeks. Unfortunately his leg had to be amputated following a bad break, but he has now come to live with me in his forever home where he will live a very pampered life. I appreciate all that the vets and nurses have done for my animals over the past 19 years and long may this continue. Read Less
