A superb vet I would highly recommend. Although we live north of the river, we will now head south even though it will take 30 minutes. Our dog took ill while family in Giffnock looked after our dog. He ate something, became unwell and my Uncle took him to the vet. Long story short, he has swallowed a peach stone which got caught in his small intestine. Without my vigilant Uncle and caring vet our dog could have died. Instead, we got some fantastic care and some photos of the evidence from the proud vet (Dermot). Our dog has recently been back to Rouken Glen for a second opinion on a potentially serious issue. The approach proposed by Dermot seems much more proportionate and reasonable to us and the communication of status and options has been exemplary. Let's hope the hound makes it. Read Less

For years one of my cats was not examined and could not get her proper vaccinations,as ,due to anxiety, she becomes very aggressive at the vets. That ,and other issues ,made me change surgeries and I am so glad I did ! Dermot was not fazed at all by her behaviour and her several medical problems have been sorted . Best vets around I have rats and been to so many vets that don't really take much notice of rats hence the change in vets....best decision of my life...the vets treat my rats like they would any other animal they are lovely!! Monty was hit by a car I took him straight to them.Was seen right away they checked him over and I left him for x rays.And stitches.They have me a cup of tea as they thought I was in shock .Told me not to worry.Soon after i got home I rang and gave my insurance details They did all the paperwork and said they would invoices the company.Also said Monty was ok (considering) About hour and half later .I had a phone call with a full up date of how Monty was and a time slot to pick him up. When saw a vet he showed me eight x rays .And T G nothing was broken .They also cleaned his teeth . I was given tablets to give him.and pain killers. He is going back tomorrow for his stitches to be checked. I can't speak too highly of them ! Read Less

Excellent. I was recommended to this practice after being very let down by another practice when my cat died 4 years ago. The care and support I received from Richard and his staff for both me and the brother of my cat who died 4 years ago was just so different and has restored my faith in the profession. My cat Benni was19 years old and had a very happy life, thanks to Richard, Alannah and the team he had a peaceful death in his home. They even followed up with more support for me. I couldn't praise this practise anymore than what I could. My little 7 month old pug took not well & they have web great with him. The reception staff, the nurses and vets, especially Helen have all been great with him. Making us all so welcome every time we go. Loki adores going to the vet now. As soon as he sees where we are he pulls to get there. The puppy parties are a great way for them to get used to the sights and smells and last night he was learning Sit and Come... he's doing it all the time. I don't think I would be able to catch him but he comes straight away now. I've never been to a nicer place for any of my dogs. Gone are the days when I have to drag a dog in .. Let me tell you how much I am in awe of you guys, My wee dog, Pepper, had the most traumatic time last Thursday. She managed to impale herself on a rusted iron pole, and if it was not for the speed and compassion of every member of staff, I really don't think Peps would be with us now.
