what can i say ,i would leave zero stars if i could, my dog has been under the wing of this vet group for several years, anual injections etc ,only 3 weeks ago i took my dog for her booster injections ,i ask the same questions every year (is everything ok with her) what the vets failed to do is (advise),if they had been bothered to explain to me that when a female dog grows to around 8 years of age it might be worth considering getting her spayed.Because of this lack of information and duty of care my dog died 3 weeks later of a pyometra which I have now learned could of been avoided if someone could of been bothered to mention the dangers of not having her spayed.we lay our trust in these people ,Why was nothing mentioned at the health check, there is no excuss as far as i am concerned . Took the dog with a growth in his mouth that even I knew would need taking out was charged £97 for meds came back 5 days later to be told he'd need to have it removed. Two days later £453 for opp. His leg where he was given his pre-operative needle became infected and his leg became twice the size. Got him to the vets vomiting blood and and black diarrhoea struggling to breath, he vomited blood four times in the vets, I'd expected that this would be it and an end to his suffering. How wrong was I.... 3 more injections and two tablets and £117 and told to bring him back the following day. He then vomited blood as I was paying. After taking him home and making as comfortable as possible and cleaning him every time he vomited on himself as he couldn't even get up by now. He died in pain. It's not the fact I was charged £117 I'd have paid anything for him just stop the pain. It's the fact I was charged £117 to watch him die in pain. Read Less

Absolutely disgraceful service we have received from them, my cat was ill and we took him to Mearley vets 5 weeks ago where he was admitted. We got told by the first Vet he has fatty liver disease but after 3 days he was sent home without any medication for his liver. My cat stopped eating again and I took him back where they admitted him again this time 2 other vets said he doesn't have a liver problem and he has something in his blood and he was given steroids and antibiotics. This time when I bought my cat back he couldn't walk properly one of his arm was full of blood and the other with drips. It took me 2 weeks to get his results which was disgusting. After leaving several messages for 1 vet who was looking after my cat he didn't come back so I told by a 4th vet he does have a problem with his liver and it could be life threatening I was mortified. The next day I took my cat again for a check up and the vet again said he doesn't have a problem with liver... no one knew what was going on........ Then my cat was given steroid antibiotic and anti sickness injection, the same day he couldn't breathe and he was yet again taken to Mearly in Clitheroe and 2 days later he died and the vet told me had obstructive liver. I am heartbroken by this and I am asking for answers why my cat wasn't given any supportive medication for his liver and the reply I have got is we DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY!!!!!!!!!!! AND I WAS TOLD THIS WAS 24 HRS SERVICE YET NO ONE WAS THERE TO LOOK AFTER MY BABY....... THEY LEFT HIM IN CRITICAL CONDITION AND WENT HOME. WHILST MY BABY HAD PASSED AWAY AT THE VETS THE VET TOLD ME WE DON'T RING STUPID'OCLOCK AND HE NEEDS HIS SLEEP. IF YOU WANT YOUR PET TO BE ALIVE DONT ADMIT THEM OVERNIGHT AT MEARLEY'S Also its been over 2 weeks I have send an official complain demanding answers via email to them and I haven't received any email back not even an acknowledgement that is how unprofessional they are...
