Was so impressed with this vet service one of my friends recommended after my dog developed a severe skin condition. Laura Steel was extremely thorough ..spending a lot of time examining my dog, explaining in great understandable detail the diagnosis and treatment backing this up with handwritten notes to take away. I took my old English sheepdog in as she started limping badly. The vet was very good with her, and gentle. Found a thorn embedded deep inside her paw and pulled it out. Job done in a matter of minutes. Very professional. Didn't cost the earth either. Happy dog and owner Read Less

My dog severely cut his leg open on a broken metal fence in the woods. The darwen branch gave me an appointment straight away. My dog is absolutely petrified of vets and needs to wear a muzzle. The vet took her time with him and made him feel safe before giving him a pain relief injection. The day after he went to blackburn to go under GA for stitches. My dog suffers from severe seperation anxiety so they worked out times for me to take him and pick him up so he was not there for too long. They are all very friendly staff and think of animals first. Would definitely recommend this vets.Read Less

I have used this practice for a number of years and I think this practice is great the receptionist, nurses, and vets are all very friendly and helpful, the vets are so caring and always seem to know whats best for your pet I have a cat that has been under the vets for a number of months with a few health issues and is now looking great a picture of health and a lot happier thanks to springfield vets and there team. AVOID !!!!!!!!!!!! worst vets iv ever been to thats if u can even call it a vet, the state of the place. they dont seem to know what they are doing either. the are over priced and a con-artist, they made out my dog had so many health problems and that he needed to have antibiotics every week costing 25 pound every week for 6 weeks also 4 urine samples costing 16 pound every one, then they said they still not sure so get a ultrasound 36 pound , then they said they still dont know whats rong and said to get a blood test 80 pound, then to send the urine samples off 100 pound and they said they still wont know, and then said he needs his testicles taken out prob. over 250 pound, then they said that even after all this they still mite not know what is rong with him, then i was told it mite be something to do with his brain and that, that will not be able to get cured so all my money wasted on tests etc. they did NOT seem concerned about the pet at all ! they where more interested in getting money then helping pets. ! i went to another vet and he they where cheaper and more helpful, gave advice over the fone, they are more interested in the pets well being than money ! and they tested my pet and there is NOTHING WRONG WITH HIM. !!!! and the reception at springfield vets are very rude, one especially, looks like they hate animals to be fair, and questioned if they are in the right job working with animals, later to discover they dont even have any pets but they seemed to fink that they could comment on how my pet behaves just cause the PUPPY gets a little excited and wants to play with the unsociable woman. also suggested i get my puppy trained trying to hint that my puppy is ill behaved, i find these cheeky comments unacceptable wen i see other pets that go in the vets that have to be muscled so they dont bite anyone ! which is worse an over excited 5 month pup that wants to play, or a dog that will BITE YOU ! my pup goes to the toilet on command, sits, fetches, sits still in the car, doesnt bark constantly, only in response to intruders but will not bite or even play bite, etc. i will be getting some authority to go and inspect this vets as i believe them to be dodgy and con artists ! Vets are quite young/unexperienced?, not very good at diagnosis, but if they cant give you a straight answer they don't charge! Receptionist is not trained to give advice over the phone, but vets will help over the phone when they are not busy. But very friendly vets (you hardly ever see nervous animals in the waiting room) Read Less
