Would really recommend them to carry out canine genital mutilation. They cut your pet like a little north African. I asked them if they would cut my right bollock off as I have a large cist and a spermaceal with vericous veins which means it feels like a squashed orange. I have to put my hands down my pants to adjust myself to be comfy. Oak mount vets took umbridge to this and took out a restraining order and a 'cease and desist' notice for Trying admit myself in a dog mask. I need some relief. Read Less

The most untrained, unfriendly, greedy vets I have ever come across. Animal cruelty and lack of respect for these so called 'animal lovers' is inherently obvious throughout the practice. The ethic of that you are a cash register over the comfort of the animal you care about is obvious. The staff are rude, unfriendly and pigeon hole their customers. The aftercare is non existent and the whole place stinks of self importance, higherarchy And greed. This will go further. I'd like to see this review promoted on their website. Always used this vet since having a pet as a child and now I have children of my own and we still use the same vets,recently had to have a pet put to sleep and they went above and beyond there customer care is brilliant and won't use any other vets definately recommend 10/10 Read Less

We changed to Oakmount vets after suffering an unhappy experience at another local vets.We find them to be extremely helpful,compassionate and professional.Our little dog was spayed yesterday and one of the staff even took the trouble to ring us this morning to ask if she was ok A small thing yes,but they make all the difference. Excellent, professional service from the receptionists through to the vets. I brought my parrot to the Exotic Pets vet as it is difficult to find an Avian vet locally. She went far and beyond to find out what the problem was and rang me at every stage of treatment whilst the parrot was with them. After seeing the above reveiw , i decided to write one myself . Oakmount is one of the best vets i have visited, thats why now for many years myself and my neighbours use them even though there are closer vets. They are always so helpfull and so caring towards our pets. We all think vets are expensive ,and it always seems to happen when we are skint, but when you take a moment and look at the premises they pay for and the large amount of staff they have to pay, well ! We came to oakmount from another vets for a second opinion on what was best for our spaniel. They were so helpful and full of advise on what they believed to be the best thing. The Practice manager spent the majority of her friday afternoon explaining to me and then my partner the risks and everything that come with whatever route we chose to go down. He stayed in and on Saturday had his leg amputated. he has been home since sunday receiving lots of love and attention and he is doing so well. Thank you to all the vets and other staff members who helped to keep Diesel comfortable and calm through his entire process. I am sure he will be happy to receive his check up later this week. Repeatedly overcharged, felt like they were working exclusively for the money and not the animals. The young receptionist is fantastic, older ones are extremely rude "jobsworth" types. Took my eight month old kitten in a month ago to be neutered and they were absolutely brilliant, they did really well to look after him and when I went to pick him up they talked me through the aftercare of his operation, as well as before the procedure explaining what it included and what happens, today, I took him to his follow up appointment and they did his weight check informed me he is a perfect weight for his age and even complimented me on how gorgeous my cat was! They even gave him a treat when he went in, he was really well behaved and they did a really good jobs in giving me tips on how to get a cat carrier and where to get the food that best suits my kitten, thanks for everything you've done for Coco! I'd definitely recommend Oakmount vets for other people with pets.. Look my 1 year old dog in about 2 months ago and they were brill. Originally rang up for an emergency appointment as my dogs could walk properly and was shaking slightly. His condition got worse when we got to the vets, one of the nurses saw him led on the waiting room fall shaking and rushed him straight into our own room where we were told not to turn on the lights and to stay quiet, vet came straight through and admitted him as he was having fits, they kept me updated throughout the whole process and even rang me the two days after he came home to check on him, couldn't thank them enough!!Read Less

I would just like to send my thanks to Kath the vet who dealt with my 12 year old daughter, Abi , and I today when we had to make the very difficult decision to put her rabbit , Jack to sleep. She handled the situation with care and empathy and explained everything. When the time came she took us to a separate room and allowed us to say goodbye. well overpriced charging double as much for same health test. all over the England price varies from 19.99 - max 50 but Oakmount want 70 It is cheaper for me to drive to York and do there for 35, SAD ! I tough you are providing reasonable prices. Especially when they should be encouraging people to participate in health testing! I was talking with 10 other people which can confirm that they did same test in different city's and towns lot less.Read Less

Great service from the staff, my cat milo had been hit by a car and sadly passed away. I couldn't face going to see him so my partner did and from what she said they were really nice, when I went to pay for him to be cremated a woman called Emma was lovely. I recently had cause to call an emergency vet as my cat was very ill, unfortunately due to a technical issue my normal vetenary surgery (stanley house) wasn't able to answer their emergency line. I looked at the other local vetenary surgeries with emergency services and attempted to call the Oakmount, much to my regret. The cold and callous response I got from the person who answered my enquiry about their emergency vet has disgusted me. I always assumed people who worked at vetenary surgeries were people who loved animals, obviously I was very very wrong. The only response I received was to keep trying my own vetenary surgery as there was nothing the heartless individual could do for me since my cat was not registered with them. I was lucky that I finally managed to get a response from my own vets and my cat is now recovering, no thanks to Oakmount. I found it surprising that they at least wouldn't even look at my cat, for 5 minutes work they could have received the 100 I ended up paying for the emergency service at my normal vets. I seriously would not recommend this surgery for anyone who loves their pet, because you may be unlucky enough to deal with the person I had to speak to. Read Less
