I've never quibbled over the cost of a procedure as I'm aware that it's a business and they have to cover costs whilst making a profit. However, the other day I brought my tortoise in as she had died in the few days prior. I had her ten years so I'm pretty confident in my care and that I can recognise death when I see it but wanted to be 100% sure as I know that they can go into a sort of hibernation coma when it gets too cold. The vet, who was lovely and caring, confirmed that she was dead. Then I was charged 12.50. 12.50 to confirm that my tortoise was dead which is what I thought already. Having already been heartbroken by the unexpected loss of my pet this was like having salt rubbed in the wounds. Again. I understand it is a business but that really felt cold, hard and all about the money. It's not al about the money. Sometimes a bit of compassion goes a long way.
