I took my siamese kitten for vaccinations and micochipping. A very very good vet. Kind, and so knowledgeable about cats helped us so much. Staff are lovely as well. Definately recommend it

Great, honestly.....even after moving out of the area and being unable to drive I still try to use this vet if I can get a lift. Neil has been a rock to my husband and I over the years and we can't thank him enough. Our dog broke her leg and having some basic medical training I did a patch up job and called Neil who I'd never used before and it was out of hours, he suggested bringing her in first thing the next day as otherwise she'd have been sat in a cage at the vets getting more stressed out than needed. Anyway took her in, she had insurance and over the course of a few months she underwent various ops to help the fixing process (all necessary) the break was so bad that we thought she would never be able to use the leg fully again......however here we are 6 years on and her leg is as good as new. During the process Neil was amazing, he grew a bond with my dog (she was young and having this leg problem meant socialising couldn't be done) and I trusted him 100% and his judgement. That was 6 years ago, over the years he's been a great help, if I need advice I just call and he's always happy to help. When it came time to put my elderly rescue dog down I knew Neil was the person I wanted to do it....I sat with her until she went and Neil made the whole process nice, like having friends around you in a time of need. I honestly have read some of the negative reviews on here and I do understand sometimes he can come across a little....abrupt? but that's because he knows what he's doing....he really does. He is very "old school" which is great as so many vets now try to push so many different products at you whilst trying to maximise the amount of money they can make from you .... this vets isn't like that at all. I have no doubt that when I take my dogs to him he will always do what's best for them and always suggest what he feels is best....so for that I do want to say thank you Neil, I hope to see you soon but not too soon (if that makes sense!) A couple saw a cat knocked over near my office, put it in a box and brought it in to use the phone. They called the RSPCA and got an incident log number and were advised someone would collect to take it to the nearest vet. I agreed to take the cat to prevent delay and a colleague and I drove 5 minutes down the road to this vet. Despite having an RSPCA log number, we were immediately told to leave and call the RSPCA. I explained that this had already been done and they told us to bring the cat to him but the vet said it wasn't his responsibility and we should call the RSPCA again. He didn't even look at the cat. The cat was still moving in the box and, although injured, was fully conscious and responsive. The vet watched us stood outside his store with an injured animal whilst we tried several numbers to try and gain further advice. Upon speaking to the RSPCA again, they advised that the vet had a duty of care towards the animal and were as shocked as we were at his response. They gave us the address of another vet 10 minutes away and we drove there instead. The cat had to be put to sleep due to the complex fractures in both front legs, however it was probably in pain for a great deal longer than it had to be because of this man. Read Less

I would not recommend this vets to anyone who has a dog's trust voucher towards the cost of spaying their pet. The vet we saw this morning for the follow up appointment was rude and dismissive to us and referred to it as a " cheap spay" Was he implying we couldn't expect the same quality of aftercare because we'd paid for the operation with the voucher? And yet, his practice is obviously happy enough to get the extra business from Dog's Trust. Read Less
