Lovely vets, been taking pets to them for about 15 years with various cats through the ages, and they have a wonderful pet first attitude. They always make such a fuss of the animals and really do everything to make you and your pet feel relaxed. They explain all treatments so clearly and don't try to talk down to you. I would like to say a huge thank you to all the vets, nurses, reception staff and anyone else that I have missed. My German Shepherd, Lunar was so terribly ill with a perforated intestine last week. I was so devastated, truly thought I was going to loose her. The care she received was absolutely amazing. The staff called me regularly to keep me updated. She is now full of the joys of spring and has her stitches out tomorrow. Can't say anything about Ribble Vets as we have never used them but their new building on Crookings Lane is a carbuncle and how it ever got planning permission is beyond me. I understand it is a busy practice and for it to be situated on a busy junction, with only a few parking spaces (yet to be completed) and with a number of schools in the vicinity is asking for an accident to happen. Brilliant vets. They helped us when we had an issue with our pet passport they went above and beyond to make sure it was rectified and communicated with us while we were abroad. Amazing customer service they really do put the animals and owners first over anything. The vet practice manager Nicky is so professional and a warm person and the nurse services are great they are so thorough and well informed when you have any questions when you go in. Can not thank Ribble vets enough. At the end of April I brought my beautiful english bulldog in, close to death n thank goodness for the amazing team that was on that day they managed to revive him. I rang them following a walk with him due to him struggling to breathe with his gums going grey and frothing at the mouth, the lovely receptionist kept calm and told me to bring him straight away, I knew then this was not good, my amazing sister helped me carry my 4stone baby into the car, once we arrived at the vets, he was so exhausted in the back of the car I could not get him up to put my arms under him to carry him, then an amazing nurse came to our rescue placed a stretcher under him and rushed into the vets with him. When I followed into the vets he was already in the back being seen to and the amazing life saving vet came out to tell me they had to put a tube down his airways to give him oxygen to help him breathe, whilst they were working on him, another vet kept me and my sister updated, she took us in a room and explained Eric had crashed and they were performing CPR and asked if I wanted them to carry on, he is only 2 so of course I said yes, being a nurse myself, I knew Erics condition was serious. 10 minutes later the vet reappeared and said they had managed to get him back, We are forever grateful for their amazing work to bring Eric back. However Eric was still in a critical condition, the team allowed me to see him with his tubes n wires attached to him, he looked poorly and the vet was telling me to think about what was in his best interests and if his breathing didnt calm down and his temperature go down I need to think what is best for Eric. I left the vets for a few hours with my friend where she encouraged me to eat something before going back to the vet. 2 hours later we were on our way back to the vet, I was ringing my partner (he was working away) asking what decision we will need to make it was heartbreaking, but when we arrived at the vets they explained he was awake, I couldn't believe it, he came home with me that evening, where I stayed awake all night with him, I rang the vet overnight, who reassured me nothing had changed with him. When I took Eric back in the morning they discussed he will most likely benefit from having surgery to enlarge his nostrils and remove some soft palette to help with his breathing, Eric is not insured so we were worried about cost, thankfully Eric did not need to be transferred to a specialist vet and they were able to do the surgery here. Two weeks later Eric had his surgery and he spent the day at the vets, he has had regular check ups and still is having regular check ups. Everyone at the surgery have been absolutely amazing with Eric, always soo caring and loving. I cannot thank them enough for giving Eric a better quality of life and for saving him, he truly is an amazing dog. Thank you all sooo much to everyone at Ribble vets you are all wonderful. I'm the daughter of kate dore and have a black and white female short haired cat. She recently had a tick that was removed by ribble vets but subciquently has had more ticks even on my return home that evening. I'm a sqeemism person at the best if time so haven't coped well with this. After seeing a small what looked like nymph stage of these creatures on her again I attended to have her checked once more. I was made to feel like I wasting there time, there was notjing there and told not to return for ticks or fleas for 12 months as they had treated her (they had checked not treated). Yesterday only 24 hours later I found one on her tummy drinking away. Consistently I have seemed advice from vets4pets who saw my cat and treated her and gave me advice and reassurance with a return check up in 3 weeks. I won't be returning to ribble vets!!! Read Less

I have used this practice with my pets for many years. Occasionally when we've had to use another practice we've always noticed how favourably Baxter's compare - they care and they don't try to put force you into anything or add extras to your bill.
