We are a dedicated small animal practice based in Ashby de la Zouch.
Our aim is to provide high quality veterinary care in a pleasant, friendly environment. We know your pet is one of the family, so we will do everything in our power to make them feel at home whilst with us.
We are a specialised companion animal practice, dealing with dogs, cats, rabbits and all other small furries.
We are proud to offer our own ‘Out of Hours’ service and care,
so a familiar, friendly face will greet you no matter what the hour!

Before I start, I have to preface this review by saying the veterinary (clinical) staff are all brilliant - our dog loves them and they genuinely care about both the animal, as well as the owners (though a couple of staff members could work on their bedside manner).
Unfortunately, the organisation and administrative side of Woodwards is desperately lacking; on several occasions we have been misinformed, or simply not given enough information, and turned up to appointments to find vaccines out of stock or be hit with surprise bills from previous visits resulting from silly administrative errors (which would be ludicrous and waived anywhere else). Our dog has always been well looked after, but not without a great deal of stress, fear and confusion for ourselves. Would recommend looking for a smaller and more considerate veterinary provider elsewhere.

We are in dispute with this vet over the charges that they raised when our pet cat died, they are now threatening us with debt collectors even though we have paid for the elements that we feel to be correct - what sort of caring organisation does that then?
Because of this we feel that they have no compassion and are just about charging owners as much as possible and we say in this instance - that is immoral and very unkind but they don't seem to care!

Took my 9 week old poorly puppy. They were amazing with her. Full bloods xray and scans . Very reasonably priced. Brilliant, understanding staff with animal dedication second to none.

Unfortunately it saddens me to say that the practice has a less personal and attentive approach in favour for a more corporate method since moving to its new location. Facilities are good, however for the vast space it occupies many smaller practices offer far more facilities in a much smaller space. We've recently had the need to visit more often and each time seem to have a new veterinary expert with conflicting advice, which makes it hard to concrete a relationship.

Outstanding. I feel completely confident taking my little old Westie to this vets. He had a femoral head removal. The staff were fabulous and made Alfie welcome. The previous surgery consultations provided me with a full understanding and reassurance. Alfies' after care was first class. I cannot express my thanks enough. My little lad is now free from pain and running again. Thank you to all of the staff.

Fantastic staff - and Justine, the Vet - was so kind, reassuring and patient with Sammy, our distressed cat...and with us! Reception team got us an appointment that same morning when we were really concerned about Sammy, even though we hadn't yet registered her there, having moved to the area recently. Very impressed by the care shown and efficiency experienced.
Luckily we had Sammy insured as she needed an Ultrasound scan, 2 xrays and a blood test, which don't come cheap! Would wholeheartedly recommend this Veterinary practice. Thank you again to the team there.

I wouldn't use any other vets. These guys are amazing. The support we received on Thursday, when we had to have mums cat put down, we couldn't fault them. I had made the journey back to Measham when we got the phone call saying she had cancer and needed putting to sleep. They waited until I could travel back to the surgery to be with her when they put her down.

Just want to thank all of the lovely staff for doing everything they could for us and my Cleo. Justine saw to us in the early hours of Wednesday morning and again at 8:30 and then referred us to Dovecote which were also extremely helpful. Justine was very knowledgeable and positive towards us throughout the whole time we were there and the ladies on reception helped us by printing out the directions to dovecote. Thank you all very much again for everything you did. Cleo is now resting in her bed at home

Before I start, I have to preface this review by saying the veterinary (clinical) staff are all brilliant - our dog loves them and they genuinely care about both the animal, as well as the owners (though a couple of staff members could work on their bedside manner).

Fantastic staff - and Justine, the Vet - was so kind, reassuring and patient with Sammy, our distressed cat...and with us! Reception team got us an appointment that same morning when we were really concerned about Sammy, even though we hadn't yet registered her there, having moved to the area recently. Very impressed by the care shown and efficiency experienced.
