Took our rabbit 3 times about a growth on his ear and was told by 3 different vets at Rutland Uppingham that they didn't know what it was. No tests were done. We eventually insisted on a referral to someone else. The new vet immediately investigated and it is malignant melaoma and our rabbit is going to die. They could have prevented this if they had any idea how to properly care for pets. We also took him in with a UTI and Gi stasis and were told they would do tests in the 2 hours that followed only for me to call and find out they'd basically left him out back with nothing done and no care given. I immediately collected him and took him straight to another vet who put him on pain releif and IV fluids straight away. Rutland then billed me for this and then banned me as if we had done something wrong by taking him to a vet who actually had a clue. I blame Rutland in part that I am losing my beloved pet to cancer. Do NOT see these people if you love your pet! Read Less

Rutland Veterinary Centre looked after our Bulldog 'Major' since moving to Rutland in 2016. He was then 7 years old. Major passed away suddenly on March 30th 2021, his old heart finally letting him down. He was 12 years 7 months old. A ripe old age, but obviously left us heartbroken with a very large hole in our lives. Major liked visiting the Vets. This was due to the fuss and attention they gave him at the Oakham Surgery, on many occasions in his later years. He also looked forward to the treats. Major particularly liked Simon and all of the lady staff. He liked the ladies. Simon and staff took care of him on his passing with compassion and sympathy, providing the cremation service and the returning of his ashes. Should we ever decide to have another addition to our family we would without doubt use Rutland Veterinary Centre to provide healthcare in the way they did for Major.
