The waiting room was very hot (aircon used to be on in the summer!) and we were kept waiting 45 mins for our appointment. The vet seemed miserable and rushed through the appointment. Very expensive compared to other vets. Overall not happy with the service. Read Less

My dog had a blood test as he has lost weight rapidly, the vet assured me that the results were healthy and to feed him more and come back in 15 days to get him weighed again. 2 days later he has gone off his food completely and I took him back. Another vet examined him and said his stomache was enlarged so he had a scan. The findings were a very large tumor! They let him come home and said I should think about treatment but the next day he was so weak we called another vet from a different vets out and they tell us he had very bad jaundice and was in a lot of pain and he had to be put down! So we were told just a few days before to fatten him up and he was perfectly healthy when really he had terminal cancer! Also on one appt they had the wrong dogs info on the screen and they were typing my dogs exam results on it! I had to correct them that my dog was in fact a German Sheppard and not a Jack Russell. I even wonder if they had given me the correct blood test results in the beginning! Read Less

The pricing is beyond expensive, and the vets seem to lack real skill with animals that are critical or simply are trying to milk money before the animal dies. My dog was run over by a car and suddenly started losing weight and puking any food. While the vets coped with the broken foot well, they failed to x-ray (something we had asked for numerous times before his death) or run any tests despite the fact that the dog had been staying in their overnight care for days and being released when he seemed fine. Of course, he came back to throw up any food they had given to him and continued to lose weight. On one particular visit we had asked for the staff to get rid of the fleas the dog had, they failed to do this. The cancer was diagnosed far too late as they had refused to run any tests and the dog died during the surgery. Recently, my guinea pig became sick and had not eaten or done any "normal" things. The vets failed to give instructions on how to feed the guinea pig or at least make her last hours comfortable (and we still payed over £40 for medication and a check up that was practically no use to her as she would have developed a liver disease). I have heard similar stories from friends who had their dogs die in their backseat because the practice failed to diagnose them correctly or quickly enough after being brought in by their owners. disgusted with this place after 20 years being with them and today asked for flee stuff and was told no we have to bring in the cats first which i believe is around 30 pounds a cat ,we never had to pay just for a visit,i don't know if it has changed hands but the place stunk today which didn't before,and the attitude was not good, all most as if they didn't give a dam,this isnt a caring place but just a business and will reg elsewhere, seems if you want to help your animals then tuff you have to go to them and pay, not nice and wont recommend,i will comment ona couple of times we took my bengal there one to be done and on picking up he was soaked in urine so we had to put him threw more stress to bath him, another time to give him a pill and the butch women i thought was going to break his jaw, try some where else, Read Less

Great place. The 2 vets we have seen so far have excellent people and animal skills. Even went to another examination room when performing distressing procedures on the animals. Front desk very help and even moved an appointment forward at no notice when we had managed to crate at very nervous kitty for the first time. Read Less

Our cat Harley has just spent over a week with Michael and his team at Marshlands, after he became extremely unwell. The care he received (which all of our animals receive) was second to none. The best veterinary practice in the whole of Lincolnshire, both vets and staff are the most caring of people ever, your animal is their concern and nothing is too much trouble for any of them to deal with. I wouldn't go anywhere else with my dogs. You get 100% service and Alistair and Fiona (vets) are amazing, they listen to you and take into account your views. All animals should have an Alistair or Fiona looking after them :) I think the world of them and have used their service for over 20 years now and never once have they let me down. Absolutely fantastic veterinary clinic.Alistair Mitchell is the most professional, experienced, caring and genuine veterinary surgeon I have ever met. My 12 yr old GSD Basil suffered a life threatening clinical emergency, (a torsion or twisted gut) and thanks to Alistair he survived. On a Saturday evening I noticed my GSD dry vomiting. I guessed immediately that he was suffering a torsion. I also know that time is of the essence and a dog die within 2-3 hrs without surgery. I live near Horncastle Lincolnshire and my vet was already out on a farm emergency. I used Google to find ANY vet available and Alistair from Pilgrim Clinic, Boston answered my call.He immediately told me to bring Basil to his clinic. I drove like the clappers and Alistair kindly rang me during the journey to guide me into the clinic as I had never been to Boston, Lincs and had no idea where I was going. Alistair was waiting in the car park of his clinic with the doors open ready and Basil was immediately examined and operated on within minutes of arriving. Alistair & his staff were wonderful, they let me see Basil after surgery and the nurse texted me throughout the night with hourly updates on Basils progress. A torsion is FATAL without immediate diagnoses & surgery. Not all dogs pull through and post operative complications are common. Basil recovered well and owed his life to Alistair Mitchell and his team at Pilgrim Veterinary Surgeon. Alistair is all you could want from a vet.
