Registered at the practice & our dog fell ill on bank holiday we couldn’t initially contact them & Lochries phone directed to vets now ( I was surprised as we thought they didn’t use them for out of hours ) In panic we rang last vet who offered to see for £80 if concerned as as bank holiday - in the meantime the woman from Lochries rang to offer an appointment the same day for £150 ! After declining she offered to book a routine appointment if needed ,with them the following day which I accepted . Following day my dog had improved So I rang Lochries first thing to cancel, to be met with a complete barrage of abuse from this woman . Demanding I should go elsewhere & we were not welcome . I had been pre warned about this woman but always make my own judgment with people . I’ve never been spoken too in this manner ,not allowing me to explain or talk me . Apart from the fact of wanting to charge £150 for a bank holiday appointment this was shocking unprofessional behaviour .Needless to say we will be seeking elsewhere. Read Less

In January this year (2018) I called this surgery around 11pm to ask if they could have a look at my dog who was showing symptoms of CRGV (Alabama rot) the guy who answered the call was clearly annoyed at having 'his time' disturbed . We was away from our home town at the time and this surgery was the closest out of hours. He refused to have a look at my dog as well as refuse to give an email address/number where a photo could be sent too. After a heated discussion (he made it clear he had no time for that call) he asked wether I (myself, not my dog) had been down south, went on to tell me that there was no chance that the symptoms my dog was showing was from CRGV. He said there has been no confirmed cases anywhere near Lincolnshire . Less than two weeks later, a dog picked up this disease from a woodland I walk in often with my own. There has been three confirmed cases within a 20 mile radius from my home address according to the vets4pets Alabama rot check map. The man who runs this surgery needs to take a think about retiring or closing it as an out of hours practice. I've heard similar storeys to my own regarding this place . Read Less

Even though we don't have our pet anymore, Gordon was the first and only vet we would use as when it was Mr King my mum took our dog there and is still with this surgery with her dog now. Gordon is an outstanding vet who really cares and nothings to much trouble, we had our dog from 9 weeks old and Gordon always took care of our Ellie's needs and when she got older she started having problems with her skin which Gordon found out she was allergy to grass and later on in her life just before she past away got fluid around the heart, Gordon was amazing with her and us it didn't matter what time of day or night he was there, we can't thank Gordon enough for what he has done for us, and if in the future we decide to have another pet we would go to him again. A very knowledgeable vet who cares about animals. Unlike other vets I have used Mr Lochrie is the most knowledgeable chap I have come across and will happily take time to tell you everything you need to know. On my first visit to this vet many years ago, I felt a bit intimidated by Mr Lochrie, he can appear a little bit abrupt, but I now realise he is often deliberating on the best answer he can find for you. Over the years, I have come to realise how very dedicated and skilled he is and he really does care about animals. I would now not take my pets anywhere else. Simply the best vet. Treated and operated on my dog himself, she had major surgery done which inluded the removal of an eye and plastic surgery, follow up care second to none. We called up on a Sunday for emergency hours (double cost) we didn't mind paying Our dog had badly hurt her neck and was yelping in pain so we called the out of hours number to be told is this an emergency we said yes he said its not and hung the phone up. I had the misfortune of visiting this practice for advice on how to proceed with the care of a young cat I rescued 2 months previous.  On entering the treatment room, the Veterinary Surgeon was in attendance but I was dealt with by a woman (late 50s, shoulder-length blonde hair) who showed not only great rudeness (loud voice, bit like a Fishwife..) but was also very offensive - the *consultation* I felt was dealt with in an extremely un-professional manner, which resulted in me suggesting I will take my cat elsewhere for treatment.  They have certainly lost a prospective customer!   What is more, on discussing this with a personal friend who is also a Veterinary professional, he stated THIS WOMAN IS WELL KNOWN for her attitude!  Steer clear if you don't wish to be spoken to as if you was a piece of excrement...The Veterinary's skills however, could well be first class.  I shall never know... I used this place as a second opinion, and I will only be using these guys again. Great service, really caring people, sometimes you can just tell your in the right hands. Didn't rush me in and out, spent time with my dog, asked loads of questions to try and understand what is wrong with her. I am really pleased with them, they came recommended, and I would recommend them to anyone. I am a busy person who works 6 days a week, I haven't got time to write this but I feel I should.
