I have used this vets for the last two years, the first year was fine, they are across the road so really convenient and the staff are lovely, I chose to move vets for this reason and the fact they offered a monthly scheme with a text msg service to let me know when my dogs flea and wormer were ready to order/collect, this worked for a year, then the msg stopped with out any warning, apparently because my data protection needed renewing, again not notified of this, consequently my menopausal brain fog cleared for a moment and I realised it had been a while since he was wormed etc, rang the vets to be told I had paid into the VIP scheme for a year without being notified of the meds being ready, I was not entitled to a refund and I was not allowed to have the meds I had already paid for, challenged this was faced with questionable excuses and rude staff, challenged again and the tactic of trying to guilt shame me by stating in a somewhat condescending manner that it was on the terms and conditions that it is my responsibility and did I not know my dog needed this treatment!!! Unfortunately I’ve been forced to give one star. First time I’ve ever felt passionate enough to bother writing a review about anything before. They’ve had a number of chances and failed miserably each time! Only really bother with you if you have large expensive pets/animals. Two separate occasions with a number of years between the incidents we have had to put 2 cats to sleep. One being my family’s pet....long list of errors from the vets which led to that outcome. The other 2 years later with my partners cat in 2017. Both times they struggled to sedate the cats, requiring numerous attempts to inject. Both times this left the cats thrashing around in distress, vomiting up blood......I truly believe the cat would have been better off dying at home than trusting these amateurs. To make matters worse This time dispite my partner having an account and other animals with them the refused to treat before money was paid upfront:/ Really bad vets, if Rasen area I would recommend Weltons vets, and if in surrounding villages I would recommend old courts vets in brigg. I have reluctantly had to allow at least one star: We recently had to take our cat to an emergency appointment, late at night, to the Scunthorpe clinic where it was felt that he had possibly been hit by a car and that, unfortunately, it would be best to have him put to sleep. The vet made numerous failed attempts to put the animal to sleep via injections in veins in both front legs, via both kidneys (one attempt of which got an acute, physical reaction from my cat, though he remained alive and breathing), and finally in the heart; this all took 10-15 minutes which I felt was not acceptable nor good animal welfare, and did say so at the time. When I got home, I immediately sent an e-mail to the e-mail address on the site stating my feelings and concerns about the procedure; it is now over one week later and I have received absolutely no acknowledgement of my correspondence.
