Have used fenwold Skegness for at least 15 years but recently had an emergency for our lovely lab at night and had to call spilsby, vet moaned because it was night time and we needed him to come to us,he said did we realise how much this would cost us,to which we told him it wasnt a problem,we have never not paid them . He turned up and examined her ,there was no compassion from him bearing in mind our beloved girl was dying slowly in front of us and said she’s come to the end... of the road and she’ll have to be put to sleep,he wouldn’t give her a sedative and stuck a big needle in her leg and twisted it round to find a vein ,he pulled this out and did this 3 times telling my partner to keep her still as she was struggling,as you can imagine we were upset and our poor girl was distressed and cried out in pain,he then decided he would give her a sedative but he had to go back out to his car to get it so prolonging the inevitable,he then stabbed it in her hind leg like a dart, I have had pets all my life and never experienced treatment so horrendous as this,we have complained and was told our comments would be passed on,needless to say the bill arrived a few days later... I have used Fenwold Veterinary Practice (Mablethorpe) since moving down to Sutton on Sea in April 2016. I have always found the receptionists veterinary nurses and the vets very pleasant and always willing to offer help and advice when asked, nothing is too much trouble for them. Yesterday they surpassed all expections of them, when Ian one of the vets there found the problem which one of my dogs Milo has had for a number of years and although he had had examinations, x-rays,... and a MRI scan previously, no-one had come up with the answer and to why he continually had pain in his hips. Ian did a further x-ray on Friday and showed me the results yesterday. It turns out the bones from his hips to his knee, one side is very deformed and the other side is but not so much. Although nothing can be done to the bones, he will now have a course of Hydrotherapy to he build up the muscle in his hips so that maybe he won't have so much pain and maybe will be able to walk better. I cannot thank Ian enough for taking the trouble to find out what no-one else seemed to have spotted, even though Milo was under the care of an orthopaedic hospital for dogs, which he did have an operation on a knee cap which kept slipping out, for several years but no-one there came up with the answer of his painful hips. I will be forever grateful to Ian and staff at Fenwold Vets, and wish them and their families all the very Best for Christmas and the New Year. See more Read Less

We had a surprise yesterday afternoon when our pygmy goat, Mary, went into labour. As she hasnt been pregnant for three years we thought her kidding days were over but we hadnt reckoned on our buck, Tommys determination. Her waters broke around 5 pm and an hour later we knew all was not well - a bloody discharge made us think the kid was probably dead. Since Mary didnt seem distressed or in pain we decided to wait until morning before we sought help. We phoned Fenwold Veterinary Practice at Spilsby and they said bring her straight in which we did. We have not used them before but we have to say they were brilliant welcoming, supportive and helpful all that one wants from a veterinary practice. Veterinary nurse Alison took charge ably assisted by Kirsty and the caesarean section was performed by vet, Richard Morris.
